SpongeBob Comics Discussion

I'm glad that they got creative with their ads for the next issue. I love these way better than the ones that just show a colored background then the cover.

I like the new posters and stuff they're using now. It's so much better than just the issue's cover and name on a blank background.
yup

I wonder if they'll do any spin-offs. The Mermaid Man stories are cool, but they're showing up so much recently that it should almost just be it's own mini-series.

Speaking of the SpongeBob Comics, I wish they made another "Comic Crazy" book, because there is a lot more comics from their magazine they could use.

It sucks not having the comic where Patrick wins the lottery, I loved that one. I think it was called "Money Isn't Everything".

Edit: My mistake, it's "Changes", not "Isn't". :P

Cartoonist Rachel Ordway:

A sample Spongebob page I did a while back (at my own insistence rather than actually being invited, haha). I was a little nervous about it because I’d never really drawn the characters before and was told there was a lot of pressure to stay on-model, but I had a surprising amount of fun with it. The scene is from a script I was provided about Spongebob desperately campaigning for the lead in the driving school play, only to succumb to horrible stage fright when he finally gets it.

I didn’t get the job, but Spongebob Comics #36 comes out next month, and I colored the table of contents page for that issue! Check it out!

Wasn't SB in some sort of Boating School play in another comic?

This sample page is a take on the story "Puff's Pageant" which was in issue #30. I can't remember who ended up drawing it but I think it was one of the regulars like Gregg Schigiel or Vince Deporter.

I'm sure it was Jacob Chabot.
