Most Shows Pilots look like what the creator previously worked on like how Family Guy resembled a Hanna Barbera cartoon due to Seth Macfarlane working on Johnny Bravo.

Pranks a Lot’ has very bright colours and extremely on-model characters, though it still lacks post-movie line quality, which makes it look 2003.

Plankton's Army also has brighter colors like Pranks a Lot.

Nice. Full on markerbob with that kind of coloring is one of my favorite styles. Like I’ve said before, markerbob looks weird with late S2 coloring. I prefer when it’s more saturated.

Season 2: ‘Frankendoodle’ and ‘Krusty Love’ have very bad dot crawl and dark colours which make them look 1999. ‘Sailor Mouth’ not only has very bad dot crawl but also a green tint which makes it look 1998. ‘Christmas Who?’ has slightly clearer line quality than the rest of the season which makes it look 2002. The rest of season 2 without dot crawl looks 2001.

Season 2 looks 2000 without dot crawl. The color pallet in that season isn’t as good as it is in season 3.

My opinion on what year season 3 looks is starting to change as well. I think markerbob (minus the dot crawl episodes and Pranks a Lot) look 2001, while normal animation looks 2002.

Season 2 looks 2000 without dot crawl. The color pallet in that season isn’t as good as it is in season 3.

My opinion on what year season 3 looks is starting to change as well. I think markerbob (minus the dot crawl episodes and Pranks a Lot) look 2001, while normal animation looks 2002.

I think both season 3 MarkerBob and normal animation episodes look 2001. Most season 2 episodes have dot crawl on their broadcast prints, and these look 2000. The only exceptions to my knowledge are ‘Grandma’s Kisses’ and ‘Grandma’s Kisses’. So far, I have yet to find prints of these two episodes with dot crawl, and they 2001 to me.

What year each season of dexters laboratory looks (refined)

TBS Pilots- 1993, very old sounding too, muffled audio due to being edited on a flatbed/telecline.

The rest of season 1- 1994/95

Season 2- The first half looks 1996 (Beard to Be Feared to Photo Finish), episodes with bad mastering issues look 1996 as well (the red tint in Star Trek Unconventional) the rest of the season up to Last But Not Beast looks 1997.

Ego Trip looks like a hybrid between Savino and Tartokovsky, 1998

Season 3- Streaky Clean to Poppa Wheely have dot crawl, they look 2000. The rest of the season has no dot crawl; 2004.

Season 4- Very modern looking for its time, crisp and clear lines as well as bright colors: 2006/07

Yeah, markerbob looks weird with brighter colors. Doesn’t look weird with normal animation though.

Some season 1 episodes of SpongeBob look like Ren and Stimpy, like Help Wanted and Pizza Delivery. Episodes of R&S like Sven Hoek were released in ‘92, yet they look light years newer than many of SpongeBob’s early episodes, which is pretty strange. It’s also very clear these days SpongeBob is trying to emulate R&S, especially with the heavy use of grandeur production music

Season 13 and 14 are rather visually ambitious, with the brief moving camera shot in Abandon Twits or the CG duck model in Say Aww, I think they’re cool in theory but they make the animation look a bit awkward and sloppy.

If Pranks a Lot had normal animation it would’ve looked like the Lost Matress or any other 2004 produced season 4 episode that wasn’t FoaKK.

Not bad of an edit.

I must say for me, there is definitely a sort of unique style with Season 1. The Cel Animation makes it unique from the rest. I kinda like it, but Seasons 2 and 3 are also great. I say the animation has gone down for me around Seasons 9/10/11, where it started getting very wacky and cartoony. It's not bad or anything, I just prefer the calmer look that was previously around.
