I need a reminder about what the difference is with Mr. Blatt, because it just simply never appeared much.

This scene looks extremely Markerbob in Sun Bleached

Patrick's face is exactly the same too.download - 2023-11-28T003055.686.jpg

This is so interesting considering the crew members behind both episodes (the latter is "Pranks a Lot", right?) are completely different. And also "Sun Bleached" is from season 6, which from my limited understanding is pretty far from the Markerbob era?

Yeah it is, which is why it's considered Zombie MarkerBob and not Pseudo

Okay cool, thanks for letting me know! I try to read this thread from time to time, but it's updated so much I never know what's going on lol

If markerbob had never existed, i think these would be the art styles for each episode:

Bossy Boots - Sailornoodle
Big Pink Loser - Sailorcube
Imitation Krabs - Sailornoodle
Life of Crime - Sailorbob
Dumped - Cubebob
I'm Your Biggest Fanatic - Noodlebob
Pressure - Sailorbob
Shanghaied - Cubebob
Welcome to the Chum Bucket - Noodlebob
I'm With Stupid - Cubebob
The Fry Cook Games - Noodlebob
Squid on Strike - Noodlecube
Sandy, Spongebob and the Worm - Cubebob
SpongeGuard on Duty - Cubebob
My Pretty Seahorse - Cubebob
The Bully - Sailorbob
Snowball Effect - Sailorbob
One Krabs Trash - Sailorbob
As Seen on TV - Sailornoodle
Can You Spare a Dime - Noodlebob
Squilliam Returns - Noodlebob
Wet Painters - Sailorblatt
Krusty Krab Training Video - Noodlebob
New Student Starfish - Cubebob
Mid-Life Crustacean Sailorbob
Krabby Land - Noodlebob
The Camping Episode - Noodlebob
Missing Identity - Sailorbob
The Sponge Who Could Fly (Walk Cycle) Sailorbob
Party Pooper Pants (Invitation Scene) Noodlebob
Party Pooper Pants (Underwater Sun) Sailorbob
Ugh (Krusty Krab Scene) - Noodlebob
Pranks a Lot - Sailorbob

Life would be pretty boring if markerbob didn’t exist.

In season 3, all the colors are the same in each art style during normal animation. The only expections are the episodes in the beginning of the season that had dot crawl and Plankton’s Army, since it’s very bright like Pranks a Lot is.

When I was little, I couldn’t tell the art styles of normal animation apart. I just knew what was markerbob and what wasn’t.

When I saw Just One Bite when I was younger, I didn’t even notice it switched from sailor to noodle midway through the episode, I just knew that it had normal animation.

All the season 3 episodes of SpongeBob that had dot crawl also had late S2 coloring (The Algea’s Always Greener, SpongeGaurd on Duty, Club SpongeBob, My Pretty Seahorse, Nasty Patty, and Idiot Box)

Here are my opinions on which year each season of SpongeBob looks:

Season 1: ‘Help Wanted’ looks 1993 because of the gritty colours and rough animation. Some of the rougher season 1 episodes other than the pilot such as ‘Tea at the Treedome’, ‘Sandy's Rocket’, ‘Squeaky Boots’, ‘Scaredy Pants’ and ‘I Was a Teenage Gary’ look 1994. The typical slightly rough season 1 episode looks 1995. Some less rough and more refined episodes in the season such as ‘Reef Blower’, ‘Karate Choppers’ and ‘The Paper’ look 1996, whereas some very late episodes in the season such as ‘Fools in April’, ‘Hooky’ and ‘Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy II’ look 1997. The digitally animated scenes in ‘Jellyfish Jam’ look 2001.

Season 2: ‘Frankendoodle’ and ‘Krusty Love’ have very bad dot crawl and dark colours which make them look 1999. ‘Sailor Mouth’ not only has very bad dot crawl but also a green tint which makes it look 1998. ‘Christmas Who?’ has slightly clearer line quality than the rest of the season which makes it look 2002. The rest of season 2 without dot crawl looks 2001.

Season 3: Most of the season looks 2001. The episodes with dot crawl (‘The Algae’s Always Greener’, ‘SpongeGuard on Duty’, ‘Club SpongeBob’, ‘My Pretty Seahorse’, ‘Nasty Patty’ and ‘Idiot Box’) look 2000. ‘Ugh’ looks 2002 because of the designs of Dorudon and Gary resembling post-movie characters, and the extremely on-model animated MarkerBob scene in ‘Patchy B.C.’. ‘The Sponge Who Could Fly’ has post-movie line quality, though it lacks the grey undertone, which makes it look 2003. ‘Pranks a Lot’ has very bright colours and extremely on-model characters, though it still lacks post-movie line quality, which makes it look 2003.

Season 4: The 2004-produced episodes of the season from ‘Fear of a Krabby Patty’ to ‘Shell of a Man’ look 2003. ‘Skill Crane’ and ‘Good Neighbors’ look 2004 because despite both episodes having post-movie line quality, they still have pale colours. Some later episodes in the season with brighter colours such as ‘Born to be Wild’ and ‘The Gift of Gum’ look 2006. The rest of the season looks 2005.

Season 5: The entire season looks 2006, from beginning to end.

Season 6: Most of the season looks 2008. ‘Truth or Square’ looks 2010 because it was produced in HD, but the lines are very rough.

Season 7: The first half of the season up to ‘The Cent of Money’ looks 2008. The second half of the season after ‘The Monster Who Came to Bikini Bottom’ looks 2009.

Season 8: Most of the season looks 2009. ‘It’s a SpongeBob Christmas!’ looks 2011 due to it being produced in HD.

Season 9: Season 9a looks 2012, whereas season 9b looks 2014. ‘The Whole Tooth’ looks 2016.

Season 10: The entire season looks 2015, from beginning to end.

Seasons 11 and 12: Both seasons look 2017 entirely, from beginning to end.

Season 13: The entire season looks 2018, from beginning to end.

I noticed how the first season, especially Help Wanted resemble the animation of Rocko's Modern Life. I think the reason is because they both had Tom Yasumi and Alan Smart as animators
I think season 1 of Rocko's Modern Life looks 1992. Seasons 2-4 look 1994.
