SpongeGuard on Duty still has late season 2 coloringScreenshot_20231118-174007_Gallery.jpgScreenshot_20231118-174013_Gallery.jpgBut at the end of the episode it switches to the season 3 coloring

I think Snowball effect is a pseudo full-on markerbob episode because it still has the season 2 color paletteScreenshot_20231118-195904_Gallery.jpg

Nautical Novice is probably the most on-season 2-model Post Movie Episode

What’s funny is that SpongeBob in zombie stage markerbob has a funnel shape like he did in early/transit stage markerbob. I also wouldn’t really consider that markerbob since there are no bold colored lines or choppy movements. Post movie episodes also have more consistent coloring so it tricks my brain into thinking that every episode looks almost the same.

I still think markerbob episodes are animated on 3s, someone on discord argued with me and said it wasn’t but markerbob episodes have much choppier movement and they lack the number of in-between frames that episodes with normal animation have.

The difference between Pranks a Lot and Fear of a Krabby Patty would have been more subtle if PaL wasn't a markerbob episode and if C.H. Greenblatt hadn't worked on FoaKP.
It went from one of the most on-model episodes

to the most off-model episode ever (outside of post-sequel)

Season 4 is animated at a higher resolution than pre movie was, could also explain why there’s no markerbob after Pranks a Lot.

The production codes are based on when the episodes are conceived, for example One Krabs Trash was conceived before Squid on Strike but it's crearly animated later
I know

In fact, i said The Lost Mattress was conceived after Krabs vs. Plankton and Have You Seen This Snail?

Guys, I forgot what style is SailorBob and what is CubeBob

An image of both styles

It could be the copy those images are ripped from. When it airs on nick, the entire episode has late season 2 coloring. I’m not sure if they corrected the dot crawl or not, since it’s been 8-9 years since I’ve had cable.
I watched the episode on a pirate site and it still have the season 3 coloring at the end

It's also the most off-model art style, he can look like a pseudo-version of the other styles Screenshot_20231119-120434_Gallery.jpgScreenshot_20231119-120455_Gallery.jpg

All normal animation is basically the same, it usually blurs together. Patrick is also noodlepatrick in the second-to-last screenshot. That happens a lot in normal animation, noodlepatrick appears in a sailorbob episode or vice versa. Rock a Bye Bivalve is a noodlebob episode, but we see Sailor Patrick during the montage of the baby scallop:

In season 1, the art style seemed to have a reverse effect, it looked more on model than the other styles, as opposed to being more off model like season 2-3. I'm not sure if it's because it was easier to draw than the other styles due to being looser or due to traditional cel animation:

I noticed all normal animation uses the same backgrounds, and even sometimes borrows from markerbob, But you'll never see Markerbob use noodlebob backgrounds
