They didn’t have the budget to switch permanently
I see, but if they wanted the show to switch to Widescreen in 2004, couldn’t they have switched studios to one that had the budget and equipment to produce it in 16:9, while keeping a similar style Rough Draft Studios South Korea used when they animated the series?

The color temperature is very warm in season 3 of Adventure Time for some odd reason.
@Original Raw and Uncut, do you think Nick should have retired the dedicated SD feed in May 2013? If they would, Nick would have to get rid of the HD part of the screen bug for the HD feed, and have it like this, which would first be HD exclusive until the SD feed retired.1FAC0E5D-DC7E-4111-9589-D8A89AC73F9A.png

Cartoon Network retired the “HD” part of the screen bug in 2013 when check it 3.0 started. It made overscan a lot less noticeable.

No. Too many people still had SDTVs at the time.
@Original Raw and Uncut, but they wouldn’t really be doing away with SDTVs. To fill in the former space, Nick would start using the HD feed downscaled to 4:3, which would result in all shows to be in the 16:9 ratio. On the HD feed (eventually being used downscaled for the SD feed), for 4:3 shows (SpongeBob for example), there would be black bars on the left and right, and would look like here6BA10FB7-163F-4FEA-926E-624C8717B485.png

And this is how they would look like on the SD feed after the original one was retired and the HD feed downscaled would be used

Something like what Cartoon Network did back on May 17, 2013.

Cartoon Network never did pan and scan. They stretched their 4:3 shows on the HD feed. One 2013 airing of the wizard of oz was pan and scan instead of stretch.

Nick has black bars. When did they change them to blue? I guess I wouldn't know because I haven't had cable since 2015.
