SpongeBob Comics Discussion

I used to get all depressed reading this topic because I had none of the comics, but luckily I was just able to order #9-34 (pre-order)

edit: i ordered 1-8

What website did you go to for back issues? I'd like to be able to order most of them from just one site if possible.

I ended up using four sites. 1-8 I got on Amazon, I got free comic book day ones, annual swimtacular and both comic crazy from eBay, 27, 31-34 and swimtacular 2 from here, and 9-26 and 28-30 from here. Not all of those places might still have them in stock, but this is a good start for finding all of them.

I got 30 and 32 today. "Phone Buddy" is one of my favorite comics of anything ever.

Are there any collections yet? So I can just get a bunch of them in one handy book.

More details for the annual Swimtacular, which is out this week:

Writers: Graham Annable, Derek Drymon, Paul Karasik, Jay Lender.
Artists: José Delbo, Israel Sanchez, and R. Sikoryak.
Cover: Israel Sanchez

United Plankton Pictures presents its second annual 48-page swimtacular, filled with super-themed stories by some of the finest cartoonists on dry land! When Mr. Krabs is kidnapped by a bitter restaurant critic (is there any other kind?) Squidward must reveal his super-secret identity--the tentacled avenger known as…the Squishy Knight! But can he and a huge crowd of very familiar-looking superheroes (especially that yellow one with the holes) possibly blunder their way to victory? And then, when food purchases go awry, you have a champion--TWO champions--as Patrick and SpongeBob try out the superhero business in "Convenient Heroes." Next, in "I Will Destroy All the Civilized Planktons," Plankton experiences cosmic justice from Dustar, the Wizard Supreme. It's a tale of ineffectual vengeance by Paul Karasik (RAW) and R. Sikoryak (Masterpiece Comics). Plus: ads for ill-conceived Mermaid Man products and a Mermaid Man western adventure with art by comics legend José Delbo (Wonder Woman, Judge Colt)!

It's the conclusion of "Showdown at the Shady Shoals," SpongeBob's first soggy serial! In this final chapter, the friendship of aquatic champions Mermaid Man and Viro Reganto transforms all of Bikini Bottom into a world of superhero realism -- with stunning new renditions of SpongeBob and Patrick courtesy of Jerry Ordway. Plus a Mr. Krabs comic by Tony Millionaire, SpongeFunnies by James Kochalka, and a choose-your-path comic starring the whole cast!

32 pages, $2.99.

LOOK AT IT! LOOK AT IT! I want all of you to LOOK AT IT!

Then cleanse your eyeballs with some more sneak peeks from this year's Swimtacular:

Seeing people like Drymon, Henderson and Lender on the comics is bittersweet because I love that we're getting SpongeBob content from them again but it also makes me miss their work on the show terribly.

It would be so cool if they somehow wanted to return to the show for the 10th season even just for a stint.
