SBM's Top 25 Worst/Best Spongebob Episodes

I like Culture Shock and Jailbreak. The next episode is Opposite Day.

I hope it's not Opposite Day, sure it had funny moments like "I'm Squidward" and "You're my worst enemy" but it is really Squid torture that I just can't stand wrapped up in those couple jokes.

I don't know why people love it so much

I really love Culture Shock but TBH I found Jailbreak very overrated. I like that episode too but I thought the episode was a little slow and the ending was rushed. I was expecting much better from that episode.

I have finally seen Jailbreak a few days ago, so I can finally say I like that episode.

I… honestly didn’t love this one. It’s not an Opposite Day joke. I’m serious. This episode, while pretty good, is not really one of my personal favorites, and I’ll explain why.

The episode begins with Squidward still asleep, only to be woken up and then annoyed by SpongeBob and Patrick, who have come into his house to throw a surprise birthday party for him. When they leave, he shouts that it isn't his birthday and calls a woman named Patty Rechid from "Bikini Bottom Realty" to arrange for his house to be sold, so that he may move out of Bikini Bottom as fast as possible. But there’s one problem; if there are bad neighbors there, he may not get a chance to sell it!

Convinced that Spongebob and Patrick may ruin his chances, he shows Spongebob a silly (but fake) holiday called “Opposite Day”, where you get to act the exact opposite (and say the exact opposite) of what you really mean. And soon, Spongebob informs Patrick about this holiday, which gets him intrigued. Squidward's plot soon begins to backfire on him, however, once he sees that Spongebob is “fixing” (damaging) his house, which makes a shocked Squidward cleans the debris with a bulldozer. SpongeBob concludes that Squidward is acting like him, and he must therefore act like Squidward. While Squidward is still fixing SpongeBob' house, Patty arrives. Now here’s what may be one of the worst moments in Pre-Movie, as well as making this one of my least favorite Squid Abuse episodes. Yeah, it really is.

Spongebob and Patrick see this, so they just GO RIGHT INTO Squidward’s house, lie and say that they’re Squidward, and do nothing but drive the lady crazy. You know what really ticks me off about this scene? The episode was actually really funny, but then Spongebob and Patrick started to become annoyingly oblivious and kind of jerky. I can forgive Patrick because… he’s stupid. But Spongebob? Isn’t he supposed to be smart, and you know… NICE? I mean, Spongebob (along with Pat) just broke into Squidward’s home without Squiddy noticing, saw the lady who WAS EXPECTING SQUIDWARD, and rather than alerting Squidward of this, he outright lies and says HE’S Squidward and begins ticking off the lady without stopping. Like I said, Spongebob is naïve, but isn’t he supposed to be nice? I guess you can argue that it IS Opposite Day and Spongebob is playing a joke, but there’s a difference between playing a little joke and being an outright DONKEY! I used to think Spongebob doing this was funny, but then…

“Childhood is admiring Spongebob’s cleverness and laughing at the woman being driven insane. Maturity is realizing that Spongebob’s kind of a jerk in this episode, since he basically broke into his neighbor’s house and stole his identity.”

When Squidward realizes what is going on, he rushes to his house and attempts to explain the situation to Patty, who, upon hearing that he is "Squidward" as well, finally sees through his game and accuses them of intentionally messing with her.

· Patty: [stands up from chair] WHAT KIND OF FOOL DO YOU TAKE ME FOR?! HE'S SQUIDWARD, HE'S SQUIDWARD, YOU'RE SQUIDWARD?! I'M SQUIDWARD! Are there any other Squidwards I should know about?
· Gary: [with a pickle on his face] Meow.
· Patty: I'm outta here.

So she decides to leave Squidward’s house, refusing to even consider buying it! Because of this, Squidward becomes furious and he decides to chase Spongebob and Patrick down the street with a bulldozer.

I don’t hate this episode. I have more of a love/hate relationship with it, though. The Squid Abuse is pretty darn harsh and I really disliked Spongebob’s character in this episode (he really SHOULD have been quiet and out of the way!). However, the first half of the episode is pretty good, and it managed to make me laugh quite a few times. Also, the ending was kind of funny. So overall, I wouldn’t consider this one of the best episodes, but I definitely wouldn’t consider this one of the worst, either.

Get ready, because the next one is ANOTHER triple tie (Yeesh!)!

Hint A: Paranormal in the shape of a sponge and star
Hint B: You think you’re so famous? You’re not really that famous!
Hint C: The tainted drink

I don't like nor hate Opposite Day either.

A. The Curse of Bikini Bottom
B. As Seen on TV
C. Best Frenemies

All of the episodes in the triple tie are Pre-Movie, if that helps. ;)

A. Interesting hint.. I'll say, Pranks a lot, because Sandy could see the shape of Spongebob and Patrick as "ghosts".
B. As Seen on TV? I'm actually surprised, because Culture Shock, Opposite Day and As Seen on TV all count to be pretty weak for pre-movie episodes.
C. No idea- It might be from season 2, because I don't remember a lot of parts from that season.

I do really dislike Opposite Day except for a few funny mimenst

I love- I mean, I HATE Opposite Day

I'm Not Ready! (To wait for the next update, that is)

It's taking a while to crank another update because I'm sick, but I'll try to give an episode as soon as possible (when I feel better, at least).

I will post the other 2 in the triple tie soon, but for now, I want to complete just the first of all three.

Pranks_A_Lot.jpg

This was a bit of a surprise for me, but now that I've watched it, I can honestly agree with this choice. While this may not be one of my favorite episodes, it's still a hilarious one. You know how you like to play pranks on other people, you know, with gags and jokes like snakes in a can, joy buzzer, fake ghosts, etc.? Well, they decided to go ahead and turn it all into an episode! The idea of an invisible spray was pretty cool, and Spongebob and Patrick's plan to spray the park bench and sit on it was a brilliant idea.

 • Nat: They're floating in mid-air!
 • Tina: How do they do that?

Too bad their plan didn't work out, since they accidentally sprayed their clothes.

But even when that failed, they decided to go ahead and act like ghosts after spraying themselves (in a fight

)! Now THAT'S a prank! I found it pretty amusing how Spongebob and Patrick go ahead and scare not just a few friends, but the WHOLE TOWN into thinking there are ghosts on the loose! The Bikini Bottomites reactions to all this were pretty funny (feel bad for taking advantage of Spongey, now?). Especially the toast gag! XD It got really good once they started scaring the heck out of Mr. Krabs, who said that 'he ain't afraid of no ghost'! And the resolution was good, too. It turns out that Krabs also played pranks on others when he was their age! That was nice. So overall, this was a pretty funny episode that has quite a few good gags and hilarious moments. And the idea of pretending to be ghosts was cool, too. ^_^

Also, Spongebob and Patrick may have thought that they'd get the last laugh, but it turns out EVERYONE else did!

 • Mr. Krabs: The Krusty Krab presents... Live Nude Pranksters! [He is shown shining the light on them from the crow's nest] Starring the Bikini Bottom Ghosts! [everyone laughs and cheers as SpongeBob & Patrick try to cover up their bodies]
 • SpongeBob & Patrick: [they scream and Mr. Krabs laughs teasingly. Sandy whistles at them as Mrs. Puff takes a picture. Squidward laughs. SpongeBob and Patrick keep trying to cover themselves]
 • SpongeBob: Patrick!
 • Patrick: Yeah?
 • SpongeBob: We should have bought the whoopee cushion!

I'll post the other two in a tie soon. :) (And I'll continue the list, don't worry)
