i am not a big fan of the CGI stuff being pushed into the advertising. but it could be way worse.
i like the posters though :p

She's staring into my soul...At least she doesn't look like this in the movie:
Yeah, I think Nick are trying to cash-in to the popularity of CGI animation/things nowadays. That's also why the Japanese trailer puts more emphasis on the 2D scene compared to the-rest-of-the-world trailer is because CGI is less popular there.DadMom AngryPants said:I'm disappointed that they're focusing completely on the CGI superhero part for advertising. The first image, the posters, the merchandise packaging, a Toyota minivan, even the name of the movie, all focused on this one part of the movie. From a marketing standpoint I guess it's understandable (CG and superheroes are both popular) but I still wish they had done something more subtle and clever. Like instead of using the superheroes for marketing they should have kept that part a complete surprise.
Oh well. As long as the movie itself is good, and by going for this cheesy "WOW CGI SUPERHEROES 3D" angle Paramount gets more people to see it, I don't really mind.
The images I posted seem to be for European countriesBeanoMaster said:I wonder if the variations are for different Countries?
Looks like the American posters have American landmarks and the international versions have mostly European landmarks.BeanoMaster said:I wonder if the variations are for different Countries?
SpongeBob washing the Eiffel Tower is also better, because something is actually happening, it isn't just a stock picture of his superhero model lazily pasted in.SBRoxMan said:I actually kinda prefer the version with Patrick leaning on the Leaning Tower of Pisa
The Hollywood poster is also the only one with that stereotypical "smirk with raised eyebrow" expression. Dreamworks Face, I believe they call it. :PSupmandude said:SpongeBob washing the Eiffel Tower is also better, because something is actually happening, it isn't just a stock picture of his superhero model lazily pasted in.
