Maybe it's just a very loose definition of the term CG and it means that it's done in the regular 2D style but with a stylus on a computer rather than real cells, which I believe is how the show is done now already. Then maybe the 3D part is referring to glasses 3D which would probably be fairly unique for a 2D animated film. Just a guess.

I'm glad that SpongeBob is getting a new balloon. The old one has looked rough for a few years now and last year wasn't holding helium properly (arm and foot were deflated). I wonder if by "new balloon design" they mean a completely new design, or just a similar, spruced-up version of the original?
