They are the M Eyebrows if you look closely...

Patrick's had M shaped eyebrows for most of Your Shoe's Untied:



His Z shaped eyebrows started to show up at the end of the episode:





Something Smells was the first full episode with his Z shaped eyebrows:




This proves multiple episodes were being animated simultaneously.

They were storyboarded in 1999, the episodes were complete sometime in early 2000. The episode probably didn't come back from Korea until March
