They should've stuck with that art style, the new one is too sloppy. However, 9B had a balance between not looking very stiff and on model while avoiding sloppiness.
Very true. I agree that the newer ones are a little "sloppy" for my tastes. Season 9B is a lot more in line with how I like it.

Agreed, Season 9B had that perfect blend...

Season's 10 and 11 did have a perfect blend of wackiness (considering that it didn't stray into Hurdurrdiduurr territory).

Then Season 12 crash and burned...

I prefer it over the stiff, boring animation of Seasons 6-8.

Season 8 has very bland looking animation. Just like the later SD seasons of Family Guy do. You know something is too new to be in standard defintion if it looks very bland, like season 7 of Family Guy. Season 7 of Family Guy's animation is the equivalent of eating sun chips with a stuffy nose, a sore throat, and a migraine without any beverages.

The 60s Peanuts specials' animation had a nice charm to it. The characters sometimes cast a shadow behind their cel, it looks very authentic.

The specials from the 70s to the 90s look more dull.

It stayed like that til the 2000s. My guess may be wrong, but I think they changed to digital ink and paint with A Charlie Brown Valentine. Everything looks a lot more slick and smooth.

The first Peanuts special that had digital ink and paint animation used was The Pied Piper Special back in 1997.

But hey, mistakes happen...
