You have a to consider the limits of traditional cel animation.

It has a lot of weird animation. This shot looks like it's from the episode "New Leaf"

This shot makes Squidward look deformed.

Yes.

The only shot I remember that doesn't look weird is this one.

What would you consider Wet Painters to be, it's a markerbob episode, but drawn in Greenblatt's style

The night time scenes of The Lost Matress look exactly like season 3, almost to the point where if Idiot Box had a deleted scene where SpongeBob and Patrick came to get Squidward back from the dump, this is what exactly what it would've looked like:

I like how season 1 of Gumball is differently designed and animated than the rest of the series, it makes it nostalgic.

I remember when season 2 premiered, i was a bit confused on why they looked off

If you watch the season 3 Adventure Time episode Memory of a Memory, during the first few seconds of the episode, when Ash is telling Finn and Jake that Marcline is in danger, it has the newer animation:

But when they're at Marceline's house, it switches back to season 1/2 style:

Finn's hat ears lining up with the rest of his hat aswell as jake's eyes is the most noticable part

The only thing I noticed when season 2 first premiered was Darwin’s missing shadow. I didn’t notice any other details until I looked back and compared it to season 1.

Most of the season was pretty inconsistent like that, you could tell that the staff was in the transitional phase between the old style and the modern one.

Chalk Zone almost uses the same art style

Some have bold lines around Rudy some only have those bold line on the top of Rudy's head that angry image is a great example!
