Why can't we just enjoy Spongebob for what it is?

I remember that...

God people take this stuff way too seriously. It's a video game with talking skeletons and evil flowers for gods sake.
They ruined the game for Markiplier...

Because he didn't play it correctly...

its also the game that brought us the "whoaaaaaa story of undertale"

And Mark is one of my favorite YouTubers, he's the guy who got me into FNAF in the first place.

God the undertale community is a train wreck (but I think everyone knew that).

I'm so glad I left that wiki.

I don't regret one bit of it. It's just all people with unoriginal opinions hating on the same episodes repeatedly. Half the time they don't even have good reasons it's just "It was bad".

Like, alright, we get it already, you really hate One Coarse Meal, this is the 400th time I've heard it. And from a reviewer, it's okay to dislike commonly disliked episodes, I do! But seriously, an entire wiki for hating episodes? Why is it needed?

Wish the wiki didn't exist, there's literally no point in it existing in my opinion.
I remember when I was younger, watching those reviews on the episodes I essentially grew up with thinking to myself:

"I'm I in the wrong for liking this?"

I was 11 at the time, but soon after maybe a bit after I realized that I don't have to change my opinion for the most popular one. I love the second movie over the other two SpongeBob movies, I still look back at Season 6 through 8 with fondness.

And I respect everyone who made it happen throughout the years because they made my childhood, they're one of my influences to make something of my own.

I'm grateful for the entire series...

i mean thats not even the worst community i have ever been in... the osc... that community.... oh no...

Okay, I get not liking certain episodes, but death threats? Too far. Way too far.

Sending death threats over a cartoon honestly makes me question so much. How low do you have to be to do that. Threatening to harm someone over a cartoon intended for children is just so awful. I'm not exactly the greatest person, but when I'm reminded people literally sent DEATH THREATS to a SpongeBob creator, it makes me feel like maybe I'm not so awful after all.

And that just brings me back to my famous question: "Why are people?"
I honestly wonder, what would Stephen Hillenburg think of these types of people?

No question, he would utterly disown them from the SpongeBob community if he had the power to do so.

Need I also remind, he was the one who appointed Paul Tibbitt as Showrunner when he left? He appointed him as that because he truly saw him as the guy fit for taking over after him.

Of course Stephen was still around but he was in a much more minor position then he was beforehand.

Agreed.

Hillenburg would probably hate to see that this is what the community has came to. He made they show for everyone to enjoy, and if I were him, I could just imagine the dissapointment.

What is that, if I can only guess what it could be?
The object show community, for shows like BFDI and Inanimate Insanity. Coming from a fan of BFDI and Inanimate Insanity, it's not a good community.

I remember reading on Paul Tibbitt's retirement from Twitter post, there was one guy who said sorry to him about the death threats and Paul Tibbitt accepted it but he mentioned how those death threats effected him, one of threats included how they would've harmed him and his dog.

And there's one guy who tried to get a response out of Vincent Waller on his YouTube channel, which Waller just roasted him.

I'm glad that in these recent years there are fewer and fewer people like this in this Fandom, but I could be wrong (hopefully not)...
Paul Tibbit death threats? I knew people gave those to the post movie writers but wooow those weirdos really wanna kill the guy who helped write “Christmas Who?”, “Idiot Box” and “Sailor Mouth”, voiced DoodleBob and was personally appointed by Steve (THE BELOVED CREATOR!!!) to continue the series.

Did Steven Banks ever get any flack for his work on the show? He’s a very talented man and he was story editor of seasons 4-8 and helped write some of the most hated episodes of 5-8

Exactly!

People forget Tibbit worked on a ton of fan favorites and also voiced DoodleBob. And he was APPOINTED by Stephen himself!

I also remember PT saying the guy who apologized to him was the only person who ever apologized to him for making death threats

I want to chime in and say being exposed to things like Mr. Enter, etc. when I was getting back into the show kind of screwed up the way I see the show, because now I can't even casually enjoy new episodes like a "normal" person. I'm always analyzing them and comparing them to what came before - I go into "critic mode" basically.

I feel like half the time their reasons for some episodes being scumbob make no sense or are so miniscule no one would care unless they're very nitpicky
same honestly

half of the bad episodes aren't even "scumbob" in my opinion. some sure, like "A Pal for Gary" but others like "Are You Happy Now?" (which I gave a 10/10) and "Krabby Land"? Definitely not what I'd call "scumbob"

Yeah, I remember seeing "Krabby Land" on the wiki and being so confused. I knew it was disliked and usually considered a bad episode but not bad enough to be scumbob. I will never not laugh at "[O]ne of the children even popped one of SpongeBob's bubbles, which is disrespectful," being a reason why it's a "scumbob" episode
