For anyone who read my post in the image thread about Global Village Coffeehouse, this has become the "theme song" for the aesthetic. If a post compiles Global Village art and has music, 9/10 times it's this song.
"Do You Think I'm Disco?" by Chicago radio DJ Steve Dahl
Steve Dahl was the radio DJ who set the baseball field at Comiskey Park ablaze with a bonfire on "Disco Demolition Night" in the summer of 1979 and encouraged people who hated disco music to bring in disco records to burn during the game between the Chicago White Sox and the Detroit Tigers. Steve Dahl hated disco music and loved rock 'n roll music. It was because of the bonfire at the stadium that the Detroit Tigers won the baseball game by default that day.
The song parodies Rod Stewart's "Da Ya Think I'm Sexy?"

I just discovered that Michael Jackson's unreleased 1980 demo of this song was a previously unreleased original version of this Johnny Mathis song with the lyrics arranged differently that later resurfaced on his posthumously released "Xscape" album in 2014...
