I'm guessing he's upset about something that happened/ is happening to the Krusty Krab.

I'd guess he'd be freaking out over some news he may have just heard

Kinda looks like he's freaking out in the middle of a road

There's shells, so he's on a beach, land beach maybe? Probably thinks he's dehydrating, freaks out? I dunno.
Just a guess.
 
It is probably a sketch for the live action scenes.
 
Maybe he got ran over by that boat (or the pirate boat on land) or Krabs fired him again? The dehydration thing makes sense too. :shiftyninja:

But, there's the flower clouds in the background. It might be underwater.

YES! I LOVE the faces so much!!!! xD I hope not too much is lost in the full version, obviously they need to clean it up and add more detail but I hope they keep the actual expressions and don't mess around with that. That was one thing I loved about the first film is there seemed to be way less limitations for the character designers and storyboarders and this is looking like more of the same if it stays this way! :)

Looks like it's underwater to me. The background mountain thing seems to be typical underwater coral scenery, and the boat in the shot wouldn't work on land. Unless they pushed it out of the water or something. SpongeBob does kind of look like he's choking.

It's a good sign. This is the type of craziness I was hoping for, so these pictures made me pretty excited.
 
Vincent Waller had told me in a DM that Chris had done some work on the movie but I didn't realize any of it had actually made the cut! I think he said that there was probably a lot of stuff he did that would make for good DVD extras.

As for the drawings, they are amazing. Very typical of Chris and his style just shows right through the character. The last drawing is purely Chris! Just look at those eyes.
 
This makes me really happy because I feel like that S7/8 has had limited off model animation. Can't wait to see more of this.

What if the scene had something to do with Boating School? Maybe Mrs. Puff bans him from going there again or she quits?

I don't think he'll getting his license because that would be ruining a part of the show. Plus it wouldn't make sense with the first movie. "I thought you didn't have a license". SpongeBob never said he did/did not, but he implied it.
