Matt's TOP 100 (yet another list)

I see, you're a lot more observant and descriptive than I am. :P Despite Bubblestand & Jellyfishing, I do agree that Naughty Nautical Neighbors started the SpongeBob, Patrick & Squidward feud. You don't see that often anymore, although you might see SpongeBob/Pat fighting occasionally, like Life of Crime, New Student Starfish, etc.

Anywayz, about the episodes, I honestly think Employee of the Month could at least be around 50-60. SpongeBob and Squidward going berserk was just classic. You know an episode's classic when SpongeBob shows his "abrasive" said to Squidward. It was just a great feud for about 11 minutes.

Jellyfishing should be a bit lower, IMO. It's not even on my list. It's not that it's not funny, SpongeBob and Patrick were funny, trying to make Squidward's day better, and "FIRMLY GRASP IT!!!" :patx: It's just that it has more Squidward abuse than in any other episode. It's not that I don't like Squidward abuse, it can come out funny sometimes (The Camping Episode), but not even Skill Crane, Good Neighbors, Boat Smarts, or Coir Boys seem to be as mean to Squidward as Jellyfising, Jellyfishing, Jellyfishing! He got a jellyfish net "firmly grasped" in his hand, courtesy of Patrick, soup poured onto him, got stung by jellyfish and a giant jellyfish TWICE, although one wasn't shown, you just knew it was gonna happen afterwards.

Jellyfishing is in a perfect spot! However Employee of the Month should be a bit behind, not much though. Though your arguments in general were very good and convinced me why you put episodes where you put them.

Yeah, it was a great argument and reason to put those episodes where they were.

The season 4 special, HYSTS, is next to fall. There aren't many post movie episodes that made it to my top 100, as I counted. And there isn't much to say about them. They're just flat-out sucks. Some of them are abysmal. The foolish episode, Penny Foolish, the suckish episode Dear Vikings, the over-hyped episode Karate Island, the disgusting episode The Splinter, are just some of the worst episode that the show ever animated, and yeah, you guessed it, all of them are post movie episodes. But for some reasons, season 4 is actually pretty decent at making specials. We already eliminate Dunces and Dragons, it's time for it's counterpart to fall. HYSTS is apparently a fairly good episode, the same level as Jellyfishing. I give it more respect, because, for once the songs are actually not bad. I don't like episodes like Wishing You Well. The songs they sang was bad. But this episode done the opposite, and make songs that are quite nice. The characters are as usual. Pretty straight forward, no major characterizations changes. Patrick was gold, again. One thing that made Patrick so funny in this episode, Is the way he made misunderstanding between characters, funny. Usually, bad correlation between characters, causes the spectators to get pissed off. But this time, it's a rather different story. Why? Because it didn't cause any accidents. For example the line, "But I thought you drove him away with your neglect and indifference." Was a clear misunderstanding, but yet it's a funny scene. Especially how it caused a change of expression ("UUUHHH"). While in other episodes, lines like that would probably cost Squid his body parts. Anyhow, it's a cute episode, filled with good moments. The songs, the humors, and the ending.

Hmmm, I liked HYSTS. I liked the Gary song, too. :rap:

This episode bringd back a lot of memories from the interenet when I'd play SpongeBob's "Trail of the Snail." =]

This episode used to make my sister cry.I really like it, though.

Holy crap, I would have never thought someone else was addicted to that game at the time on this forum!!!!

Yeah, I was once addicted to that game, too. I still play it occasionally.

Episode name : “Hooky”

Episode number : 20a

Season : 01

I'm back. And Hooky's hooked to fall. First of all, after some reading from tv.com, I felt almost everyone hated Hooky. Don't know what's so bad about Hooky though. I think it's SpongeBob at it's best, all the characters are in their elements. Patrick as the idiotic counterpart, and Krabs as the father figure. It's really nice to see it. It's all well executed, quite exciting. Although the ending was all piss. I don't like the ending. I liked the first half better. It had a bunch of funny moments such as Patrick, thinking that the hooks is a carnival, Patrick eating the cheeses, SpongeBob and Patrick playing with hooks, the customers complaining about Squidward's cooking, the mint part, and maybe some more parts. The second half, though, is a bit suckish, don't you think? Because SpongeBob did made the biggest mistake of the episode by riding the hook. And then off course, he got hooked. The naked running part was VERY disturbing to watch as a kid. The tuna part was funny to see. But the nude part was to much. The ending was just weird to watch. Overall, a great episode yet it ended in a disgusting way. As though, I think this is better then it's counterpart MM & BB II (Which may upset you). You see, MM & BB II, is a great episode. But The humor isn't worth it. Exception for the mayo opening part, there isn't much to talk about, this episode. Not the funniest. It's not lacking humor, it's just to predictable. Hooky, on the other hand, wasn't that predictable, for instance I never expected the part where Squid gets trounced while the door closed and opened. In the MMBB episode, We all know what's gonna happen next. The car is going to be broken, when SB touched the button, He is also going to appear somewhere near the building to scare off the two heroes, and everyone knows how to defeat a bubble. (If you wanted to know, MM & BB II is number 102, on my list.)

Yes I don't like watching the end of that episode because Mr Krabs basically just humiliates SpongeBob. It feels out of character to me. Even Squidward wouldn't do that IMO

I agree. Spongebob is abused at the end of the episode and character abuse is disturbing. Especially while naked.

The first half indeed was awesome! But the ending, I don't know what to say to that, it is just weird, reminds me of 2 seasons of this show that aren't very likeable...............

Episode name : “F.U.N.”

Episode number : 10b

Season : 01

So, another season 1 episode falls. This time, it's the fan's favorite, F.U.N. This episode, is all about a kids childhood. The song will remind you of the first time you ate with a spoon. So many good memories around the episode. It's just basically circulated to the word : FUN . It's all that. The song is fun, the characters are fun to watch, and the episode itself is fun to watch. The characters are seen in a very good shape. Although, I must admit, I would never thought Plankton could do a change of character, yet still performing in a very good condition. He is the best character Plankton. With that big voice, and evil background, he made me jingle the song, while trying to imitate his voice. It's unlikely, but it's true. I think the key is both the song and probably some of the dialogs he did with Karen. Anyway, Bobby does his way of dealing with his character (playful, friendly, and whatever else . . .). Mr. Krabs, was good. That's it, really. Something that annoyed me is Squidward's change of personality. He does the character horribly this time. That smile was a bit disturbing, when he started singing. There are some great moments, apart from the song. Such as the scene at the magic shop, or the he's a jolly good rookie part, but mostly the very first scenes. But I have to say, comparing this episode to it's counterpart Culture Shock, it's just being annihilated. F.U.N. is a golden classic, CS is a titanium classic, along with the class of Christmas Who? and Graveyard Shift. And this episode isn't the episode that I will turn on when I tried to convert a hater. Overall a good episode, with fun moments, great songs, excellent narrating, and songs . . .

Titlecard_The_Bully.jpg

Episode name : “The Bully”

Episode number : 43b

Season : 03

Comments
Now, we're reaching the end of the 70s, and I am about to drop a big one after this. So, let's carry on, with The Bully. Obviously, this episode, is a thinning, casual, tv segment. It does everything right. Humor? checked. The humor in this episode, knows no bounds. It's scattered around the episode, waiting for you to realise while thinking in your mind "oh, I get it, LOL." There is the pencil joke, the "mean it" part, the toilet joke (gotta act natural), the life's like a bucket of wood shavings joke, and many others. It seems this episode was just meant to be silly. TV raters, like rotten tomatoes won't enjoy this. None, and I mean, none, of the scenes are suppose to be suspending, nor serious. It's just all funneeeehhhh. But it's actually a good way of mixing titles. We all know that this was supposed to be dramatic, but somehow, this dramatic episode, wasn't, well, dramatic. It would've been out of my list, if it wasn't for the constant humor it gave us. I don't know, if the producers are suppose to make it this way, or they were trying to make a dramatic episode, but came up with too many jokes that hides the tension of the eppie. No comments on the characters. They all done well. Flats for one, doing well for a debutant. Unlike the guy named Stanley. One more thing, It does not make sense that SpongeBob gets punched by Flats and does not feel it. This suggests he has no bones, but in other episodes he has bones; he either has no bones in his mouth or the creators were referencing the fact that his species have no spine and thus no bones. But, well, it's a cartoon. So, I put it here, because it does well by being very funny. But lacking the excitement that we should've get, from these types of episodes.

Best Character : Old Man Jenkins (so innocent)

I like The Bully, but you're right, I didn't believe it as too dramatic. I'm pretty sure every one of us knew that Bobby wouldn't be serverely injured. Uless it's a new SpongeBob fan. Also, is the title card a sponge with bandages? It looks like it. :|

I honestly think the Bully should be higher but that is only because when I watch something, 99.9% of my satisfaction is the comedy.
