Ideas for an adult SpongeBob series?

One word:

SEX

And up the violence!!!

If they made an adult SpongeBob series it would absolutely NOT be produced by Nickelodeon themselves

They would most likely outsource the IP to another part of Paramount like Comedy Central or MTV

Or a studio that specializes in adult cartoon production

I uh...really want to see this happen!

An adult cartoon of SpongeBob SquarePants can push the envelope and get away with FAR more than the original kids' show

Content such as:

-Alcohol consumption
-Drugs
-Sex (this includes foreplay like passionate kissing and touching)
-Childbirth and labor
-Death
-Love and Marriage
-Parenthood
-Criminal offenses beyond littering
-Swearing

Etc

Would become possible with an adult SBSP cartoon series!!!

I am a little tired of the current TV-Y7 show

If that is the case there should be nothing stopping a SpongeBob SquarePants adult cartoon from being made!

Well...except Stephen Hillenburg and Vincent Waller

But the root of the whole issue is that Nick doesn't want to cause damage to SpongeBob SquarePants and more importantly doesn't want to alienate the kid audience

They MUST protect this show at all costs or they risk destroying their network!

However, what if there was a way to create an adult spin-off of SBSP without risking damage caused to the IP?

By separating this show from the rest of the "SpongeBob SquarePants" universe and making an adult SBSP cartoon its own entity

SpongeBob needs spin-offs for each demographic

But SpongeBob SquarePants has Spumco connections (Vincent Waller & Richard Purcel) so it would only be natural at this point to create An SBSP Adult Party Cartoon!

Nick is too lazy and scared of venturing out of the restrictive TV-Y7 rating

I just had a thought...

While we wait for an actual SpongeBob SquarePants adult cartoon why don't we just make our own fanfiction story of what we would want a SpongeBob APC to look like?
 
I am vehemently against the idea of SpongeBob becoming an adult show LMAO. It would lose its imagination and creativity imo. I'd imagine an adult SpongeBob show would be like Close Enough or something like that. Or 12 oz Mouse.

While I agree with you on some of the things you said, I also have to side with @Pugs4Thugs on how the show would loss its creativity and imagination (just like what happened to Ren & Stimpy).

I think SpongeBob can retain its creativity and imagination even as an adult cartoon

All they would have to do is just crank everything in the current kids' show up to 11 and add in a little bit more dirty humor

The current show IS already basically an adult cartoon anyway...

The show could be uncut and uncensored on Blu-ray and DVD, while on TV, they have to censor swear words (except words like the b word, damn, hell, ::dolphin noise::, etc.)

I agree with that. For an innocent show like SpongeBob Squarepants, I feel like that's unnecessary IMO. And, I'm pretty sure MTV already has an adult version of Spongebob Squarepants, and we probably don't need another lol.
