Gordok's Bottom 37 Spongebob Episodes

Oh yeah, here's another honorable mention!

Honorable Mention
S09E01B-Squirrel-Record-Titlecard.PNG

Why it's an honorable mention: It feels like a major rip-off of Pre-Hibernation Week, since it involves Sandy doing a bunch of dangerous stunts to achieve something (in this case, breaking some world records), and her dragging Spongebob into this. Some of these stunts range from weird, to just plain disturbing! At one point, Sandy literally injects steroids into her teeth! ._. And just when they both think they broke all the world records, it turns out that what they did was pointless, as the book expired years ago... Whaaaaa--?

Why it's not on the list: I never saw this episode prior to this list, but still, I REALLY don't like it. If I had seen it before, I would've put it as #30 with 20 atrocity points (second worst S9 episode, only beaten by Squid Baby).

I'm gonna do was Squidwardisawesome22 is doing and keep a list of the episodes for me in order of atrocity points.

Just so people know, this is, in fact, ranked using an organized score sheet based off of my critical perspective. This would look much different if I used a freestyle personal opinion like my worst/best 100.

Now that we're close to the Bottom 20, I'll just do 24 to 21. (and when I do the Bottom 20, I'll do 5 at a time from 20-6, and I'll do it one at a time from 5-1)

Trenchbillies.jpg

Season: 7

Atrocity Points: 23

Premise: Patrick and SpongeBob find themselves held prisoner by a backward gang of hillbillies.

Why I Dislike It: Some would call it offensive. Some would call it stupid. Some would call it creepy! I call it all three. First of all, there's the matter of redneck stereotypes that even includes the dreaded inbreeding reference (ew). And also, those Trenchbillies look way too creepy and unpleasant to look at. What bothers me most of all is the amount of sheer idiocy and lack of sense this episode has. It's so stupid, it's almost insulting. Oh so everyone can just escape the DEEP SEA TRENCH without effort! They couldn't do it in Rock Bottom, but here, it's a cakewalk. ... HOW DOES THAT MAKE ANY SENSE?!?!

Final Rating: 2.5/10

#23
Pet-or-Pests.jpg

Season: 6

Atrocity Points: 24

Premise: SpongeBob adopts a stray worm that soon gives birth.

Why I Dislike It: Hey, any of you guys want to buy some writhing, flesh-covered worms that make really grating and uncomfortable noises and spray acid in your face? No? Yeah, me neither.

Final Rating: 2.3/10

#22
The_Main_Drain.jpg

Season: 7

Atrocity Points: 24

Premise: SpongeBob and Patrick go in search of a drain that once destroyed Bikini Bottom.

Why I Dislike It: This episode suffers from the two same things the other two LoBB episodes have suffered; lack of sense and large amounts of stupidity. But this is worse. Why? Well, at least both Welcome To The Bikini Bottom Triangle and Trenchbillies had at least a teeny bit of sense. This episode, however, has NO sense whatsoever! The story of the Main Drain is confusing. The plot drags on and fails to give a proper story. And the twist at the end where it was all in a book Spongebob was reading just made it even more nonsensical than before!

Final Rating: 2.1/10

#21
Tentacle-Vision.jpg

Season: 7

Atrocity Points: 25

Premise: Squidward becomes the star of his own public-access TV show...

Why I Dislike It: ...Until Spongebob and Patrick ruin it for him. Yeah, it's a Squidward Torture Episode. But what makes this one stand out more than some other Squidward Torture Episodes is the fact that not only can Spongebob and Patrick humiliate him, but EVERYONE can! They can break into his house, invade his privacy, steal HIS show, vandalize his property, and even KICK HIM OUT! What else can I say? This is just unacceptable!!

Final Rating: 2/10

Hint A: Nerves of Steel!
Hint B: What could be worse than constant squeaking?!
Hint C: Bikini Bottom goes tribal
Hint D: How to make someone unlikeable, only to screw them over
Hint E: WORST SPECIAL EVER!!!

24. I've got nothing to say.
23. Another horrid abomination.
22. Don't know what to say about this one.
21. YES YES YES! I hate this one with a deep passion.

Lots of junk here.

I hate Trench Billies and The Main Drain the most. On a drawing level, Pet or Pests is one of the worst in the series, only behind Boating Buddies for that title. Entertainment level, it's another mediocre, forgettable gross out. Still got to rewatch Tentacle Vision to be able to have an opinion on it.

The_Great_Snail_Race.jpg

Season: 3

Atrocity Points: 26

Premise: Squidward and Spongebob enter their snails in a race. But their toughest competition won't be each other, it'll be Patrick's pet rock.

Why I Dislike It: Don't worry, I told you it was fairly low on the countdown. However, Spongebob is really cruel to Gary here. Why? So he can win the snail race. Okay, I know you want to beat Squidward, but jeez, man! Isn't that a little too harsh on your snail? I mean that scene where Gary explodes is because of you! (And that part where the audience CHEERS to that... just no.) At least Spongebob realized what he did wrong in the end. And at least Patrick was hilarious in this episode.

Final Rating: 2/10

NVE00002.png

Season: 6

Atrocity Points: 26

Premise: Patrick and Spongebob use their new slide whistles to add sound effects to Squidward's every move!

Why I Dislike It: Okay, this episode is just twisted. While for the most part, I find this episode to be pretty funny (Am I the only one who’s NOT annoyed by the slide whistles?), the ending kills it for me. The Bikini Bottomites CHEER Squidward’s death? That’s just sick (kinda like the Great Snail Race)! Also, Spongebob and Patrick REALLY need to learn to leave Squidward alone when he wants it.

Final Rating: 2/10

#18
Sponge-Cano%21.jpg

Season: 7

Atrocity Points: 27

Premise: When a volcano erupts, an ancient warrior reveals that the only way to stop it is with a sacrifice!

Why I Dislike It: Wow, Squidward. Why have you been flanderized, too? I mean, once faced with death, you actually learn to appreciate your life more, and once Spongebob saves your life and even when he gives you a good home, you say you LIED about everything you said? Come on!

Final Rating: 1.9/10

#17
Good_Ol%27_Whatshisname.jpg

Season: 5

Atrocity Points: 28

Premise: Mr. Krabs holds a contest between SpongeBob and Squidward: the one to learn the most customers' names with a fabulous prize.

Why I Dislike It: You know, if you think about it, just about every character in this episode (except Spongebob and WhatZitTooya) is an unlikeable jerk. Mr. Krabs screws Squidward over. The cops throw Squidward in for an extreme amount of time (way too much if you ask me), just for snagging a wallet. I would feel sorry for Squidward, but since he screwed himself over as well, why should I feel bad for him? If anyone, I'd feel bad for the WhatZitTooya guy. He IS the one who's wallet got stolen by some wacko.

Final Rating: 1.8/10

#16
The_Clash_of_Triton.jpg

Season: 6

Atrocity Points: 29

Premise: With King Neptune celebrating his birthday at the Krusty Krab, SpongeBob wants it to be perfect, so he's off to find the King's estranged son, Triton. With special guests Victoria Beckham and Sebastian Bach!

Why I Dislike It: I'm sorry to tell you this, but there is no clash. There is no humor. There is no interesting story to be told. In fact, the story is lazy and senseless. The characters are as stupid as all heck. All the 'clash' is is Triton crashing into the Krusty Krab with a car (?) and firing a lazer at the city. And the backstory is stupid and insulting. So you're imprisoning your son for being NICE, Neptune? Wow, I can't believe they actually try to make me feel sorry for you in this one. Anyone who does that because their child is being NICE is not a good parent!

Final Rating: 1.5/10

I would complain, but I already know how much you hate The Great Snail Race so I'm not going to bother. But seriously, you hate Gary Abuse, I can stand it, though if it's not like A Pal For Gary kind of abuse.

I can stand Gary abuse a little in The Great Snail Race too, at least SpongeBob felt bad for Gary later and Gary was fine at the end of this episode. Same with Pet Sitter Pat *gets killed*.
