In Progress Every Spongebob Episode and Movie Reviewed (by your's truly)

As of now (January 27th 2023), this thread is on indefinite hiatus. What that means, I don't know.

But reason why I'm saying this is because my headphones are broken plus I lost disc 3 sometime during December 2022.

So if able to find that at some point (or just get the last few episodes of Season 2 plus some of Season 3 on YouTube) then the reviewing will resume...

However though until that day comes, this thread will be on indefinite hiatus...

BTW, the airdates are wrong. Hooky and MMBBII aired on March 3rd, 2001.

I don't believe them, I don't think that Nick would stretch Season 1 to almost 2 years considering that they didn't really have the mindset of Spongebob being the mascot like they do now...

Plus Season 1 is more well rounded with the old air dates than the "true" ones in my opinion...

People were worried about Hooky and MMBBII getting held back on old SB forums.

SpongeBob SquarePants:
Procrastination/I’m With Stupid

Airdate: October 19, 2001

SpongeBob writes an 800 word essay on What Not to Do At A Stoplight, but it turns out that SpongeBob had further interruptions like getting a call from Patrick, cleaning the kitchen, a news report, the mailman arriving and feeding Gary. at the end of the episode, SpongeBob informed Mrs. Puff that he finished his essay, but she ended up canceling the assignment at Boating School.

Now on to I’m With Stupid.

the episode starts out with Patrick cleaning his rock and preparing for his parents to come over for Starfish Day. it turns out for Patrick that Janet and Marty weren’t his parents.

meanwhile, SpongeBob arrives with Gary at Patrick’s house with his karate head gear on.

SpongeBob was angry at Patrick for making fun of him, suddenly it turns out that he is smart and shows a picture of his brain.

at the end of the episode, Patrick’s parents Margie and Herb Star arrive with Squidward at Patrick’s house and then it turns out that Patrick and his parents went inside his rock.

I’m With Stupid is definitely one of my favorite episodes from SpongeBob SquarePants. I gave it a 10 out of 10.

I love the scene with Patrick giggling after Janet stated that SpongeBob lives in a pineapple and Marty stated that it was unhealthy.

I have good news, the indefinite hiatus is now over as of this Christmas (December 25th 2023) now that have this:

I may not have headphones, but I'll probably start reviewing them sometime tomorrow (if not December 27th).

I'm happy to resume reviewing duties and I hope that I could finish up Season 3 pretty fast compared to Season 2 which at this point is going to be almost 2 years since I've began reviewing that Season...

Either way, I'll look forward to finishing up Pre-Movie by late February while the dual review of both Help Wanted and the SBSP Movie would happen sometime after.

So, me again...

I guess I should probably say why I haven't done reviewing like I said I would do back around Christmas, and well it's because I never really had the determination to go back and do them or more rather I been busy with school and other stuff (aka my ARG[h] series).

However, it had dawned on me since I got a DVD drive for my laptop and I think even before getting the drive but most likely when I got the drive, that I could just review the episodes from there instead of the DVD portable.

After all eventually I'll have to move off that thing as it has trouble playing Season 11 Disc 3 in that it freezes up on The Grill Is Gone (it just stays on the title card).

So this would be perfect because if it effects Season 12 or Season 13, I wouldn't have to worry about finding other sources.

So eventually, I'll get around to reviewing but I wouldn't blame you if you think it's going to be another long wait until I say something again on here.

And to that, I'm sorry that I couldn't fulfill those promises but hope that will fulfill them sometime soon and hopefully soon.

Season 2 Episode 17a (37a): Procrastination
Air Date: November 30th 2001
Production Code: 5571-175

I'm going to say that this is my favorite part of the episode:
72298b770900df6c9f94ce82a4c58347.jpg

Anyways I like how SpongeBob begins to go insane over the essay, from just Patrick from plausible finding out about it to random others to ultimately his House blaming him for being on fire because he didn't write the essay when it's revealed that it was all a dream.

Now I find this episode pretty relatable, because I do procrastinate alot especially with school work and you guys could argue that I did so here. But really think about in SpongeBob's shoes, because he could have not realized he was procrastinating in some parts or maybe he did.

But but, I'm only defending SpongeBob here because I can relate to him and especially with how he finally found out what to right as it just kinda hits you last second.

But then the ending... Mrs.Puff decided to cancel the assignment because of teacher's convention and ultimately thought that a fieldtrip to a stoplight would be better instead.

I don't know if whether or not the fact that Mrs.Puff canceled the assignment because of the convention or the stupid traffic light field trip got to SpongeBob the most, because I would've done the same the same thing as him. (Hold the splitting in half part)

Either way though I do think the episode is good in terms of relatability and because of that (in my opinion) I feel like it gets an 8/10 from me.

On to the next segment...

Season 2 Episode 17b (37b): I'm With Stupid
Air Date: November 30th 2001
Production Code: 5571-179

I guess I start by saying that this episode along with a select few others have in Pre-Movie SpongeBob have been considered to be Scumbob, with this one being the first to show Patrick's more "flanderized" dumb personality that we'll later see in Post-Movie/Pre-Sequel.

However I or most people don't really share that same sentiment about this episode. Yes SpongeBob (kinda similar to Sandy in Squirrel Jokes) is being dehumanized by Patrick so he wouldn't look dumb in front of his "parents".

But I'll at least say this in Patrick's defense, he could have been too stupid to have remembered what the plan original was to the point he forgot.

But that doesn't mean in no way I'm defending Patrick for egging it on while talking to "parents" which by the way...

Or really this even though it's funny, but Patrick really only did that just to spite SpongeBob:

I like how Marty is essentially Biff in the sense that it's the same actor, Thomas F. Wilson, who I think made his debut on the show with this episode. I'll also give credit to Janet/Margie Star's voice actor, Susan Boyajian.

Anyways, despite me sounding negative I don't think this episode is bad. It's good because of it's funny moments but also because of Thomas F. Wilson (who'll also return for an admittedly fitting role) and also some meme material such as that laugh Patrick makes after SpongeBob rammed head-first into his house.

Overall, (in my opinion) 8/10 from me...

POST NOTE:
So here I am, almost 2 years later after the last review. And honestly, it's kinda nice getting back into it because it didn't feel like I had to do it although I kinda had to in a sense.

And I still will, what got me to do these episodes really was because I want to see the show evolving first hand. It doesn't help now because when I started Season 12 and 13 were running together with two new spin-offs - Now as I'm coming back to this both of those seasons have finished up, Season 14 premiered not long after 13 with over half it's episode now announced and almost half premiered, Kamp Koral is starting to wrap up with all it's episodes announced, and TPSS now on its 3rd Season.

Basically what I'm trying to say is that now there's more content because of my absence from reviewing episodes...

However, hopefully, I'll be more active in reviewing and so on so forth.

I wonder why you can't give 0/10 to Bubble Buddy
