This probably explains why every cartoon looks the same today, CalArts began spreading after the success of Adventure Time, when many popular television shows like Steven Universe, The Amazing World of Gumball, Gravity Falls, and more featured characters with similar faces featuring a bean-like and an ovular mouth (comparison image shown below). It has also been called the "Thin-line style."[3]View attachment 12814

Season 1 of gumball is the only season that looks different. It's also the only season to not be part of the CalArts generation. Cartoons also don't have art evolution anymore.

but mostly cartoons that did have art evolution, pretty much are finalized, family guy, spongebob, simpsons are sticking with what they have for now

adventure time and regular show were like the last shows to have art evolution

Steven Universe was the last to have art evoultion, but the differences were very subtle. Adventure Time and Regular Show were the last to have drastic change. And yeah, you're right, every episode of Clarence looks the same, same thing with Uncle Grandpa

There's some normal animation at the end of Pressure when everybody is shouting "Hooray!" Patrick is the only way you can tell that this isn't normal animation.

Fred's arms and dorsal fin have ultra-thick black lines for some reason in this part of As Seen on TV

Survival of the Idiots has normal animation, but I don't know what style it is. Animation wise season 2 is the most diverse out of any season in the show.

Spongebob's head is bigger on the top and skinnier on the bottom in some episodes with normal animation, such as the Smoking Peanut. The Smoking Peanut also uses the same art style as Krusty Love, Sailor Mouth, Idiot Box, Just One Bite, MM&BB V, The Great Snail Race, Born Again Krabs, and SpongeBob Meets the Strangler.

The reason why some of the live action scenes Band Geeks look so bad was because it's footage from the USFL Memphis Showboats vs. Tampa Bay Bandits in 1984:

Look at the ugly 80's hairstyle and clothing.

The live actions scenes following were made during the production of the episode in 2001:

You can also tell that the lighter snippets are from 2001 because of the more modern clothing and hair styles and the better camera quality.
