Truth or Square has rough lines because those lines weren’t meant to be shown at such a high resolution.

Now the reason reason why season 7 of family guy looks blurry as ::dolphin noise::. Is because Season 7 was animated at a huger resolution but was downscaled. Season 8 was made in HD but was cropped to 4:3, which is why it isn’t blurry like season 7 was.

Makes me wonder how late SD SpongeBob episodes look in the animation software before being downscaled to a lower image quality.
 
I wish there was a way I could map the pre-movie colors and the post-movie colors and then automatically give post-movie shots pre-movie colors. To be honest color variations just look like filters to me so I wish I could automatically create filters to transform shots into palebob or pre-movie.

I feel like there should be a program like that somewhere on the internet or at least in a studio but I have no idea what it would be called.

I think pre-Butt Dial looks cooler. Post-Butt Dial is more geometric and neater so while it's "better" in a sense, I still prefer pre-Butt Dial. The pre-Butt Dial drawings are still well done, just far more organic.

Also did you think that Krusty Krab kitchen scene I showed you look pre-movie or post-movie?

I find it impressive that Regular Show was able to cut so quickly from season 1-2 to modern within one season. The change happened so quickly that season 3 of Regular Show has no identity of it's own, the first 15 episodes feel like season 1-2, and the rest of the season feels like modern Regular Show. Adventure Time's change was so gradual that it was impossible to pinpoint exactly what episode marked the change. There were a few episodes in season 3 that did feel and look like season 1-2, Hitman, Still, Conquest of Cutness, and Memory of a Memory felt like season 2 episodes for example.


As for the spongebob image, it looked pre movie, it honestly looks as if Born Again Krabs had a deleted scene.

Finally, a post-movie scene that looks pre-movie! :D That was from Fear of a Krabby Patty. But I edited the colors. Like I said before I'm trying to learn to use color filters to make post-movie episodes look pre-movie. But the original looks rather pre-movie to begin with:

I guess my edits just made the image go from "Hey that looks a lot like pre-movie" to "I can't believe that's not pre-movie". Because the line work is already really pre-movie-like to begin with in my opinion. If I saw that image in a meme I'd probably think it was pre-movie. It really does not look like post-movie at all in my opinion. This is one of the few cases where the designs override the colors, instead of the other way around.

It is funnel shaped and is on model, but it still doesn't have bold red lines. So it is zombie Markerbob

Also, I made SpongeBob artwork in the style of Help Wanted

Also does this look pre-movie or post movie to you? I tried to edit the zombie markerbob to give it pre-movie colors. What do you think?

It looks a little pre-movie, but the contrast is too low and the colors too warm

I was watching Fear of a Krabby Patty today and the linework compared to core Season 4 reminded me of pre-Butt Dial Regular Show: less blurry, crisper, darker, and (slightly) more organic lines.

Meanwhile the linework of Best Frenemies is more like post-Butt Dial Regular Show.

Season 7 is another transitional season, every episode before Legends of Bikini Bottom looks like season 6, more vibrant colors and bolder lines:

Season 8 is also the post movie season that looks exactly the same from start to finish.
