186b. Plankton's Pet

Great episode! I was a little concerned when I saw the opening at the Krusty Krab, but it actually turned out pretty sweet. IT was nice to see more Plankton/SpongeBob stuff over all, and I liked Plankton's different attitude than normal. I can tell the Bikini Bottomites quite enjoyed it, too. :p But even Man Ray would love Spot dearly. He was an even better pet than Patrick! :patrick: All in all, not too many flaws, I just feel like it needed more of a conflict.

9/10 :D

This was actually surprisingly good. The characters weren't annoying, there was virtually no Patrick, and the pet was adorable!

Just sad that Sandy didn't show up.

I really do hope they bring "Spot" back as a recurring character. Maybe he has other powers besides increasing in size that could aid Plankton in stealing the Krabby Patty.

The episode was adorable. I loved the part with the crowd going aw. I loved the fact that Plankton actually cared about Spot and went looking for him.

That is a really good point. Other than the end, there was no conflict.

A nice change from the normal pace of Plankton episodes. Heck, the secret formula is only mentioned twice in this episode, which is a new record. However, the episode offered much more than the plot. It was a brilliant mix of sentimental feelings, and hilarity. Plus, just the thought of the pet being amoeba is genius.

It doesn't get a 10 though, mainly because the episode's pacing was extremely fishy, which has been a problem for most Season 9 episodes so far, and the episode didn't really have much of a conflict, like PatStar mentioned. Still, it gets a solid 9/10, for the things I have mentioned above.

Funny Moments:

-Mr. Krabs beating up the robot baby and everyone's reactions.
-Spongebob randomly popping out of the window.
-"Too stupid", while walking past Patrick. :1st:
-[background=rgba(255, 255, 255, 0.498039)]"It's not showering me with unconditional love! I think it's defective."[/background]
[background=rgba(255, 255, 255, 0.498039)]-Spot shaking. [/background] :rofl:
-Plankton walking Spot.
-Plankton accidentally squashing Spot.
-Spot being able to get a Krabby Patty so easily.
-"Holy plot twist!"
-"Pardon sir, have you seen this amoeba?" / "You mean that little speck?" / "No, that little speck."

Three words to start this review "Holy plot twist!"

What a spectular episode! From Spot to the other characters, everything was perfect! I'm suprised how this episode didn't invovle the secret formula for once. The twist with Spot grabbing the patty and eating it was fun to see. From start to finish, this episode was heartwarming. I actually don't mind seeing Spot again maybe as a background appearance. Kind of like Sandy's robots made an appearance in two episodes.

10/10

I LOVED THIS EPISODE! :D I thought it was really great to see Plankton feeling so attached to Spot. It really had some sweet moments, and it's great to see the more loving side of Plankton. :) I was worried that Spot would leave at the end and Plankton would be heartbroken, but I'm happy they finally gave Plankton a happy ending! I hope Spot appears in future episodes :)

Lol, this topic is SO going to be locked. You can talk about this in the Planktons Pet episode page.

Anyway, I loved it.

Best Plankton episode in awhile. I'm just glad that the episode ended on a positive note. The beginning was a little funny, as well as Patrick's cameo (as a snail, reminds me of the ending of Grooming Gary), and several more. This gets a 10 for me and it is my top 5 for the ninth season. Luke and Marc had been a better storyboard team over Casey and Zeus.

I loved this episode. It supplies drama, humor, love and a great plot all in one. Patrick's cameo was hilarious, as so with "HOLY PLOT TWIST!". The writing team did excellent, and this episode indeed exceeded my expectations. The humor was a little absent, but atleast it had more humor than a lot of episodes in seasons 6 and 7. This episode deserves a 9.5/10. Great episode.

I agree with everything you said except for the bold.

I actually thought there was a lot of humor in this episode, especially compared to episodes like Squid Defence.

The episode felt alot like a Pre-Movie episode, I'm not saying which season it felt, but it just felt like a good pre-movie episode. Even though plankton does try to steal the formula at the beginning, and sometime in the middle when Plankton asks Spot to fetch a Krabby Patty, but other then, Plankton is just having some fun with his new pet, Spot. I even have to give a credit to SpongeBob, this is one of his most kindest roles in any episode (well, I know there are more which SpongeBob is even more kind), and that's what I want to see from these writers. I should even also give another credit at the beginning when Plankton was searching for a new pet, I was laughing alot when I saw Patrick as one of the pets in the shelter.

Overall, it's an amazing episode, and hopefully there should be more episodes like that for the next upcoming episodes in Season 9.
8/10

One thing I often wonder though, the part when SpongeBob mentioning Gary losing him, was that a reference to "Have You Seen This Snail?"

It seemed like it at first, but then SpongeBob mentioned that it was the worst 8 minutes of his life, which kinda killed any potential for the continuity reference.
