Wow. I'm surprised that this episode gets so much hate! I can understand it, though. This episode was pretty funny, and Mr. Krabs going crazy all of a sudden was scary, but hilarious! Though, the squeaking got really annoying. It was fine the first time, but FOR HALF THE EPISODE?? I found the constant squeaking to be grating to the ears and too unpleasant for me to enjoy.

5.5/10 (MEH ; The worst episode of Season 1)

Maybe this is where they got the idea to make "Slide Whistle Stooges" except make it more cruel and annoying to watch.

As for this ep, I never hated this one but the premise is kinda meh.

Am I the only one who likes this episode? It's pretty funny to me. I like Mr. Krabs going insane, and the boots didn't really annoy me.

Is this episode that bad? The squeaking is really not that annoying and the episode has funny jokes so really, in my opinion is really not that bad.

I LOVE THIS EPISODE!!!!

It is hysterical. Every facial expression and little gesture is en pointe. It's one of those episodes where you laugh not necessarily because of what a character says, but because of the WAY they're speaking or moving around.

I simply can not comprehend how you can tolerate this episode, it 's just annoying, it has no redeeming values. By far the worst episode of season 1 and one of the few not great episodes of season 1. Boo

I watched this episode again and It's actually not bad as I remembered. The squeaking sound in this episode still annoys me but this episode had some good facial expressions at least and I liked how Mr. Krabs had gone crazy. 6/10

I don't really understand why this episode is so neglected these days. I mean really. This episode is really funny, with the stunts Spongebob does with the boots, to the great pardoy of "The Telltale Heart" at the end.

Sure the boots got annoying and they'd fit Pearl later on *coughepisodeslikeslumberpartycough* but seeing Mr. Krabs going insane partially made up for it. The ending was weird though. 8.5/10

Mr. Krabs going insane = Hilarious. The squeaky sound didn't annoy me (Unlike a later episode which had a similar premise with the gags to this), and the animation in this episode is just way too funny. Heck, this is probably the funniest episode of the show in terms of the animation. 10/10.
