01a. Help Wanted

This is truly a classic Spongebob episode! It does it's job as a pilot by establishing characters for later use. Not to mention, Livin' In the Sunlight, perfect!

Great way to begin a series, I love the old style animation and the episode really feels unique. Defiantly a charming episode from beginning to end 8.5/10. I want to see that hydrodynamic spatula come back.

Great for a pilot, introducing the 4 main characters well with a good premise for the pilot and a nice introduction to the nonsensical and lively tone of SpongeBob SquarePants. I also adore the chubbier and stouter appearances of SpongeBob and Patrick, and just the general old look of the episode.

Favorite Moment: When the Anchovies are attacking Squidward and Mr. Krabs

Favorite Quote: "I want my mommy Mr. Squidward!" -Mr. Krabs

Fun Fact: When the screen zooms into SB's house, Squidward has a wall of bamboo sticks in his backyard.

8.5/10

this is cel animated
so it's kinda unfair to compare it to season 2 and 3

I love this episode, but it tends to be overrated. :trash:

I might be in the minority but i don't think this episode is that great.

It's funny looking back that after watching the episode for the first time when it came out in 1999, I remember thinking that this show would be a flop. i would have never thought spongebob would soon become my all time favorite cartoon.

This is a forever classic, one of the created series premieres to ever exist!
9/10

I'm going to try to watch and review every Spongebob episode.

Definitely one of my favorites. 8/10

Honestly, I'm not much of a fan of this episode as an episode. It's an amazing pilot, but it just doesn't hold up well compared to other episodes- it's kind of boring, and most of the humor just revolves around the concept of the show which is no longer funny since everyone knows about the show. Excellent as a pilot, meh as an episode.

As an new form user on SpongeBuddy Mania, I will review all the episodes of this classic show, so here goes. This episode was the the first look of the undersea world of SpongeBob SquarePants, and it's great on so many ways. With funny one-liners, great animation, and good background music, Help Wanted is an episode I'll watch again and again. Now that's how you start a nice show!

Favourite moment: Where SpongeBob cooks up lots of Kraddy Patties to the anchovies.

Most awesome quote: "Today's the day, Gary."

Ranking: 89/100

An excellent introduction to an excellent series. :clapping:

This was awesome not only because it was the first episode but also because it is a c,as sic episode and was an awesome way to start out the series.

This episode was great introductory to the yellow porous sponge we all know and love. It's the most simple episode in the whole series but can you blame it? It's the pilot it doesn't need to be too complicated or too funny because it's introducing us to the characters, locations and environments. Also Living in the Sunlight is incredibly catchy

8/10
