Ik I'm not Hugs4Softie but she posted this message in this thread a bit ago (sorry if this reply comes off as rude and there may be other reasons to why she left):

It's not the place it used to be. Never would have thought on a SpongeBob wiki, I would come out as asexual in relating to SpongeBob himself (it was on a related post), and someone would tell me to "enjoy my adoption papers" (super insensitive, wtf did I ever do to you?). Worst part is I couldn't hate comment back. The site has been overran with people far younger than me and trolls.

It's kinda sad to see how much a site that was once my favorite wiki get such a downgrade, now you can't go one day without getting harassed. I've done better on Instagram!

Hi Hawkfighter! I remember you from ESB!

I mainly left bc people on there were being very rude to me and the admins for the most part did not do anything about it.

I wish to return but I feel like I should give that site some time.

This is why SpongeBuddy Mania is way better than ESB's Discussions. It's definitely more peaceful here.

Does ESB even have discussions (at least abt SpongeBob)? It seems most people there just post memes abt unrelated stuff or post abt unrelated stuff and the posts talking abt SpongeBob rarely get replies.

Yeah that's another reason it's gone down hill. While there are posts about SpongeBob, the trolls have taken over discussions and most posts are about mostly inappropriate things or hating on other users...

I can validate this. I wish Fandom would remove Discussions from all children's wikis at some point.

Tbh I don't even think it's trolls, I think it's just kids who are really young and have no other place to say their interests and stuff. Unfortunately they're gonna say awful stuff because it seems they have unlimited access to the internet. At the same time when I see the word trolls I think of Chris Chan trolls mostly so xd

I can agree. The place is no longer family friendly, I got called some pretty awful things on that wiki.

Which is really sad because back in 2021 when my friend Official (SpongebobExpert) used to go on ESB he loved it because of how nice everyone was.

Yeah many of them are probably younger than me.

Though I think the users are only half the problem, the other being that most of the admins I've messaged multiple times to warn and block users and I might not get anything for 2 days+ if I'm lucky. Sometimes my reports (completely valid reports) are completely ignored by the admins.

At that point there's sadly nothing much you can do then. I do wonder if most of the admins are rarely online or as young as most of ESB's users

I think this occasionally.

Though people like BSponge and Anthony were good buddies of mine, I think they might be overwhelmed or even just taking large breaks. I know Anthony is around my friend Official's age, so he's an adult, but some admins have also been inactive for 6 months+ and personally I don't think someone inactive that long should be taking up an admin position.

Especially considering how hard it is to get admin on ESB, how many edits you have to have, they're very large requirements.

I can see how some of the admins can get overwhelmed or burnt out. They definitely need to boot their admins that haven't been online for 6+ months. However, I don't think there's a lot of people who would be good admins on ESB even if they fit the requirements.

Have you tried contacting Fandom staff before? They might be able to help.

I get overwhelmed as well because of my autism, which is why I'm only active on Fandom a few hours a day.

This might be a good idea. Though the user I reported actually got blocked, this didn't stop them from coming to my message wall... and also they were not blocked for making extremely rude remarks but for being a sock account. Luckily they seem to have deleted their account now.

I don't want to tell him but occasionally I will find it hard to moderate when 5+ people are messaging me about things like promoting and banning users for stupid things. So I understand.

I also believe that many of the old users I used to talk to have left already, excluding MarioBob, I think he's the only active friend of mine on there. And many of the new users are not easy to talk to.

I guess that's also another problem with ESB. The userbase is slowly shifting and there's a divide between old and new users.

How much admins does your discord server have? Is there a chance you can delegate some of those peoples issues to the other admins (unless u already do this)?
