Breaking the 4th Wall

Many shows have broken the fourth wall. What is the fourth wall, you ask? It's simply when a character in a television show or movie alludes to the fact that they are in a show or movie. Below are examples:

* Nature Pants - after SpongeBob walks off to join the Jellyfish, Sandy says "I'll give him a week" and Squidward says "I'll give him 11 minutes", which implies the length of the episode.

* No Free Rides - SpongeBob runs into the narrator, during his boating exam, and it shows his equipment that is used underwater.

* Pressure - When SpongeBob and Sandy are looking at the clouds before racing up the mountain to see who's better at everything, SpongeBob says the clouds look like a flower. Sandy corrects him saying they all look like flowers, all the time.

* Welcome to the Chum Bucket - Plankton says "I put the brain in the robot, you know." while looking at the camera, implying there is an audience watching.

* Club SpongeBob - Squidward says "Why must every 11 minutes of my life be filled with misery?"

* Wet Painters - Patrick says "Can you move it along? I'm all out of time cards."

* I Had An Accident - The family at the end of the episode that looks at each other with disgust and confusion then turns off the show.

* Missing Identity - The waitress at the end of the episode says "Well, you managed to kill 11 minutes."

* Missing Identity - Patrick says "Hi, Spongeboob. Ha! Spongeboob! I sai...I sai... Ha-ha! Who's Spongeboob? I said Spongeboob! Again, again. Sorry people." implying that there is an audience watching or the cast that does the voices.

* Ugh - After Patchy falls down, while dressed in a dinosaur costume, the camera crew comes in and helps him up.

* Born to be Wild - SpongeBob rides a bubble transition into the Krusty Krab.

* Pat No Pay - SpongeBob says "I think I can explain. Yes, I've seen this one before. It's a common symptom. Patrick is suffering from Krabby Patty withdrawal. He needs one or he'll keep mumbling about it for the next three and a half minutes."

* Stanley S. SquarePants - "That's ok, there's nothing good on TV anyways." SpongeBob then turns to the camera and says "Nothing."

* Planet of the Jellyfish - Mr. Krabs asks what happened and SpongeBob tells him. During the talk, the time card "Eleven Minutes Later..." appears, referring to the episode length.

* Plankton's Pet - When Spot brings Plankton a Krabby Patty in Plankton's Pet, Plankton says "Holy plot twist!"

* Séance Schméance - Patrick says "Sorry SpongeBob, but this is the part of the story where I run away again only this time I don't know where to run to, so I'm just gonna go circling around the building!"
