Does Season 1's cel animation look scary?

I know it's dumb, but when I was younger, Season 1's animation gave me the chills, the wobbly character movement, off-model designs, the dim colors, and the faded lines. In 2008, I started crying when I watched Spongebob transform into a snail in I was a teenage gary, it wasn't the scene itself, the ugly cel animation made it scary. The crew made a good choice by putting Halloween episodes in Season 1, that way, the eerie cel animation can give younger viewers the chills. Season 2 however, depsite having odd coloring, never scared me, when I was younger, I was fasinated by the weird digital coloring, one episode Spongebob was yellow, next episode he was bronze, then after that, he would be green or tan. Season 1's animation doesn't scare me anymore, but it can look ugly at some points.
 
I never noticed a difference when I was younger and thought all episodes were made on computer
 
I don't know if this counts but Gary has always looked a little creepy in Help Wanted. I've never been scared of it though.

I guess extreme examples of that like the Gene Deitch Tom and Jerry shorts can be kinda unsettling, but I wouldn't consider any spongebob episodes to be "scary" looking. For the most part season 1 doesn't look any different from season 2 other than being a little darker and painterly-looking.

There's a bigger difference besides S1 looking more painted.

It's blurrier and looks older. I still don't see anything scary about it. If anything it looks charming and fits the tone of the show.

maybe its the deeper colors but other than that i dont see how it fits the tone of the show
 
I don't think it looks scary. Just normal Cel animation to me.

Honestly I think S1 looks slightly better. Maybe I just like the more flat style.
