Does Season 1's cel animation look scary?

S2 was worse IMO...just BC the colors were improper I was like "forget this". LOL
 
Cel animation is the best way to go for shows, imo. Season 1 is by far my favorite animation in the show.

I really wish they did Halloween episodes in cel animation (Seance Schmeance, Don't Look Now, Ghost Host, etc.) :\
 
No, not at all. I think it looks perfection. Sometimes cel animation can look a little creepy if the film is too old. One of the best cartoons ever, A Day at the Zoo by Bob Clampett, only exists in really old ugly looking film prints and it creeped me out a little bit as a kid, even though it was still a great cartoon. It can have a bit of a fever dream vibe if it's hard to tell what you're looking at.

I also used to have a VHS tape with this cartoon on when I was really little it and this is STILL creepy. Has an extremely fever dream vibe going on, because the film print is so old and damaged:

But SpongeBob's film prints are from the 90s and they were digitally transferred before they even aired. There's nothing creepy looking about them.
 
Cel animation is beutiful. In many ways I prefer it over digital.
