if your wondering why face freeze is number 1 almost everyone i ask says its either good or terrible 1/2 say its bad then the other half says its great i think its bad but anyway and no one says it is okay because its controversial

That's not really the right use of 'controversial'. I think 'polarizing' is a much better word.

The Parents Television Council complained about Sailor Mouth because of the "offensive language".

Rock-a-bye Bivalve is probably the most obvious episode in terms of the Homosexual Agenda™ stuff, but people were talking about SpongeBob's supposed gayness even before that so I don't know if it's that controversial on its own. It's more SpongeBob's relationship with Patrick in general that sparked that controversy.

And of course there was the SpongeBob, You're Fired! debate a few years ago. And Fox News complained about The Endless Summer in 2011, but I don't know if that counts since it's not really a proper episode.

I think what I love the most about the Sailor Mouth controversies is that Tom Kenny upright confirmed in an interview that the voice actors were in fact swearing in their characters voices, and from what Tom Kenny said, half of the recording time for the episode was just laughing uncontrollably.
