The Complete Thirteenth Season releasing December 5

Added to Calendar: 12-05-23

Patrick looks fine but Spongebob looks weirdly vector based then usual
The industry has been going for desaturated glossiness ever since it abandoned cels sadly. That’s part of why I love SpongeBob still. They didn’t change the animation to be all sterile and grey like all these modern shows are. Sadly even dragonball feel victim to the “let’s downgrade our art style” fad

Sadly you know what they’re all missing? Special features like dvd commentary. I wish they still did those even if they were always rare. Karate choppers kinda has a new life when I was younger seeing it had a commentary with tiny Kenny n such
I miss those. They should also keep doing interviews, behind the scenes, and documentaries.

In fact, all seasons of SpongeBob should be released on Blu-ray, with Seasons 1-8 and the shorts remastered to 1080p HD (while the 4:3 episodes keep the 4:3 ratio with black bars on the left and right), the deleted scenes for Procrastination and Just One Bite (although the deleted scene for the latter is included as a bonus feature on the Season 3 Blu-ray), it also includes Mid Life Crustacean (Season 3 Blu-ray), the cut line at the end of Whale of a Birthday (Season 4 Blu-ray), the extended version of Truth or Square in 1080p HD on the Season 6 Blu-ray, the original version of SpongeBob in RandomLand, Kwarantined Krab, both of which are for the Season 12 Blu-ray, and more.

And for Blu-ray releases, the following should be done too:

  1. The original versions of You Wish!, SpongeBob’s House Party, and SpongeBob B.C. are all used on the Season 3 Blu-ray
  2. The deleted scenes for Procrastination are included
  3. The deleted scene for Just One Bite is also remastered in HD and put as a bonus feature on the Season 3 Blu-ray
  4. Mid-Life Crustacean is included on the Season 3 Blu-ray
  5. In episodes where there might be audio after the screen cuts to black at the end, the audio is restored
  6. If the tape exists and is ripped, Sailor Mouth is Uncensored on the Season 2 Blu-ray

what should be added to the Blu Ray DVD releases for every season of SpongeBob SquarePants is the commentaries with Tom Kenny and Stephen Hillenburg

Yeah. Also interviews, behind the scenes, and other documentaries. For example: Square Roots: The Story of SpongeBob SquarePants.

All other commentaries should be included on the Blu-ray releases as well. Same for storyboards and deleted scenes

woohoo! that’s awesome. it’ll be just like the original airing of the episode that is on Amazon Prime and Paramount+
