SpongeBob Theme Song origin

Aside from the genre being similar, I don't see that the SB theme song sounds much like "Blow he men down". My mom used to sing the latter to me as a kid, so I'm quite familiar with it, and never got a connection to the SB theme song.

I'd say it's a parody of the genre, not an actual remake of "Blow the men down".
