Overall: Good season
 
I think the first half of this season was basically the same as seasons 6 and 7; in some episodes it seemed like the characters were at their worst. In the second half of the season, I noticed a lot of the episodes improved, were different, and the characters were more likable.
 
About to watch Hello Bikini Bottom and finish the season off today (save It's a Spongebob Christmas, which I'm holding off on until December) and I've got to say that it's been pretty enjoyable all the way through. A few duds here and there, but I never hit a rough patch where it felt like a chore to watch for anymore than an episode or two. This is the first full season I've watched beyond the first three and it's gotten me excited to go back and explore the rest of the show
