Actually Vincent told me that the storyboard supervisors (Sherm and Dave) are the ones that add old characters into episodes.

Oh yeah and in Shuffleboarding. (if you're talking about the Grandma from Have You Seen This Snail?) Whenever she cameos, it kinda creeps me out because she ate her pet snails, idk I get a sort of stalker vibe from her.

The cameos were just nice little easter eggs. They had nothing to with the actual plot of the episode.

I doubt they were referencing the actual episode by just naming the place Pickles and have pickles in it but the other pic could be a reference to Can You Spare a Dime.
