Don't see why SB and Sandy having a child together should be a problem - beyond that it shouldn't be physically possible and that the created has said SB won't be shipped canonwise. They're trying to keep it a secret? I doubt SB would want to or he able to, if he'd get in a relationship with anyone, keep it secret. The whole town would know - at the very latest, after he gushed to Squidward. (That would happen, 'cause either he'd go right ahead and bigger Squidward at work until he got to spill, or Squidward would confront him because he's acting so strange... then Squidward would try to use the info to his advantage.. Maybe convincing SB that "love sick" is an illness, or whatever, there are so many ways for Squidward to try, and so many possible reactions from SB. At the end, Sqndy clobbers Squidward. ;)
