I would have to say 40% - 50% of the USA/World has Windows XP. 20% has Windows 95. 20% has Windows 98. 10% has Mac. Whatever is left is windows 2000/Me/NT

This poll has been expanded, it now lists the version numbers for each os, the codename for each os, and features several MacOS Milestones, also added are several non mainstream os's, that are without doubt used today. It should be noted that the majority of processors lie in embedded systems, and very few of those use any version of windows. Quite frankly I was appalled to see this poll list such a short list of choices.

Ahh 2004...that was when I used my first ever computer: an HP Pavilion running Windows XP. I got experience with the older versions of Windows (Me then 98 then 95) not too much later thanks to hand-me-downs from relatives.

Just got a new computer recently, and with it, went from Windows 11 on a laptop to Windows 10 Pro on this. I missed 10 tbh

I started with using Windows XP as a kid, Vista wasn't a thing yet. I used that even when Windows 7 gained majority popularity. After that PC died, I briefly experienced Windows 8 through other people's devices to do schoolwork, until I got my own which quickly switched to Windows 10.

After a few years I decided to switch primarily to Linux and I've been running it for the past few years now. Windows XP is still the Greatest Operating System of All Time

Windows 7 and XP were ones that I remember using when I was a kid. 7 especially, as that was how I browsed the internet until mid 2016. Those two OS's were also pretty common in school until support for Windows 7 ended, although XP was getting phased out when I was in middle school. Also I still have my old Windows XP laptop I got in 2016.

Windows 8 not 8.1 was what my Step-dad had, until he left which became my DVD player since that was kinda the only thing I could do with it.

Windows 10, I first started to use that either in 5th or 6th but more likely 7th, since we started to use Chromebook's instead.

Windows 11 is what I have now, and in all honestly I prefer it over 10 despite the logo (it's literally just four blue squares). I would later make VM's of Windows NT 3.51, Windows 98 SE, and Windows 2000 through Virtual Box on my Windows 11 because I just wanted try a OS from Microsoft that was older than XP.

Pretty sure my first ever computer had Vista, although I had used (presumably) XP before and after that at school. In the 2010s I mostly used Windows 7, and then eventually Windows 10. Nowadays I have a Mac with dual boot, so I have both Mac OS and Windows 11 on the same computer. But I use Windows more often so I changed my vote to that on the poll :p

It's always fun trying and failing to install Linux Mint because your storage devices can't unmount.

I wanted to make a Linux Mint USB, but eh. I guess I'm stuck with Windows 10 for now.
