How are SpongeBob, Squidward and Plankton able to afford their homes?

I always imagined that Squidward probably gets paid a lot more than SpongeBob, and therefore finds it easier to afford his house

As for SpongeBob, it's been shown that he keeps a lot of spare money (like in "All That Glitters"), which he probably uses to afford things

And as for Plankton, I'm sure Karen has some sort of way of helping him get money
 
Maybe SpongeBob's parents built that house for him and let use it free of charge?

Well maybe, but SB is his best employee
 
SpongeBob is only 18, and he likely has autism, so he probably gets it from social security.
 
Inheritance? Always an oft-overlooked possibility.



Of course, it's just a kid's show. So it doesn't really matter. 😋
 
Even more ridiculous is that in "Big Pink Loser", SpongeBob says that he used to pay Mr. Krabs $100 an hour to keep his job.

So then how did he support himself under those conditions?
