Also, Squidiam would work since they're the same species, while Patrick and Gary aren't.

While this is a kids show, species is the wrong word to use.

However, it's odd for a "bigger figure" to be dating a pet, if that makes sense.

I agree. This ship, even if it IS a joke, is still disgusting. Bestiality and Incest are big no-nos as far as I'm concerned. :nono:
