Also, one of the things that always weirded me out in Pieguys reviews is how at the end he always counted specials and shorts the same as 11 min. He would say how many good, meh, and bad there were. For example, Atlantis Squarepantis is a Scumbob, while SB vs the patty gadget is good. One is 45 minutes and another is only a couple minutes but they both count for the same amount.
 
I think he did a good job iverall, but some of them he either was too quick (Pineapple fever, porous pockets) or whined about the episode (boating buddies, giant squidward)
 
...what is wrong with him whining about the episode if he doesn't like it and says why he doesn't like it?

He also pointed out serious flaws with the story. There was no transition from SpongeBob being really generous with his money to being snooty.

Yeah, well he got that. If it weren't for that I'd probably throw the porous pockets review down with the quality of his good ol wgathisname review.
 
Exactly. Not to be rude or start any conflicts, but quit trashing on his opinions. I thought all his reviews were good in their own way and he explicitly explains what he doesn't like about the episodes, which I can understand. It's one thing if you ask him why he specifically likes/dislikes an episode, but trashing his opinions like that and considering them "flawed" is kind of rude. Alright, with that out of the way, let's get back on topic to the season 7 video.
 
I agree with the post above me.

So he said he did 1/3 of the season already. Which one do you think is where he'll start it off with when he gets back to recording? I say Bad Guy Club For Villains.

Interesting point, but they're both episodes with their own story to tell, regardless of runtime. One at a time, so I can see why he does that.

Dude. This topic is for discussing the videos. Have you seen his PSA video where he says some places don't except criticism. You are making this topic one of those placing. AK is giving his opinions on Pieguy's reviews. The topic is about discussing THE REVIEWS. AK was giving criticism. Who knows? It may even make the videos better (even though they are already great).

True, but don't you think two episodes of equal quality and different runtimes should be counted for differently?

Well, I'm not sure how else he could count it in the seasonal reviews.

I think the problem is, the criticisms he's giving aren't very useful. It's not constructive criticism, in any fashion.

I don't think that's his main intention though. He's doing this in the first place to see exactly how many good or bad episodes are in the season. Atlantis for example, while it is a long special, it's just one episode. Same deal with something like Spongebob Vs. The Patty Gadget. Regardless of the runtime, he just wants to see if the episode is good, meh, or bad.
 
Just let AK do what he wants. I'm not above being criticized, and at this point I'm sure we've all drawn our own conclusions about the quality of his reviews. He's on topic, even if I ironically think that his criticisms are more him just whining. :withasmile:

That would be really tedious. What would be the purpose anyway? To give certain episodes more points than others? Due to the stand alone nature of the show, I think it makes the most sense to just count each episode as exactly one episode regardless of length.

That would be really tedious. What would be the purpose anyway? To give certain episodes more points than others? Due to the stand alone nature of the show, I think it makes the most sense to just count each episode as exactly one episode regardless of length.
