Unfortunately, UK releases seem to be lacking in the special features department. The DVDs I own don't have any of the audio commentaries or mini documentaries or anything like that. It's really annoying. :(

I know what you mean, I bought the UK Season 1 box set, and was very disappointed with the lack of many special features. I assume they get rid of the audio commentary to keep the DVD with a "U" rating.

I wouldn't have minded so much if they had changed the information on the box to match what was actually included. It was just disappointing to see all those special features promised and then not being able to find them on the actual DVD. :(

spongefifi's collection > you

edit: replying to the list of stuff that someone has and asked "who can beat me?"

Well, Spongefifi has a huge collection.

Does this mean it would be better to import the US DVD rather than buy the UK DVD?

Only if you happen to have a multi-region DVD player. As far as I'm aware, American DVDs (Region 1) usually won't work on our players because we have a different region code (Region 2, I think? Could be wrong.)

Yeah I know, I would probably play it through VLC on the computer.

We have a different framerate in Europe than America, they have 24 fps, we have 25 fps I think. So when they show American shows over here, they are sped up slightly to fit 25 fps, which means voices are higher pitched.

Compare the original US titles of HIMYM

So that's where your avatar comes from. :P
The PAL/NTSC difference use to effect video games as well (don't know if it still does). A few years ago I bought the Sonic collection for the Gamecube, and it made me nostalgic so straight afterwards I dug out my Mega Drive and played some old Sonic games. They were reeeeally slow compared to the Gamecube version. At first I thought my Mega Drive wasn't working properly but it turns out the game really was that slow back then. I just never realised until I had the American version to compare it to.

That's correct. Although with some Region 2-only DVD Players, you can enter a code onto them to make them multiregional. Usually that requires knowing the name and model of your DVD Player, and then simply Googling "(insert DVD Player name) Multiregional code" :)

The crowning glory of my collection so far. Are you ready? Are you sure? Are you sure you're sure?

I love your collection, you've got some stuff I didn't even know existed. :)

I'm a long way off catching up with you, though. You could open a Spongebob museum! :P
Fun fact: the museum I work at has a toy gallery with iconic toys from hundreds of years ago up to the present day, and Spongebob is there. It makes me very happy.
Fun fact 2: now that I think about it, working at the museum is probably what sparked my sudden desire to start a proper Spongebob collection. I'll have to start accessioning every new object I get ...

PS: I just noticed Spongebob photobombing the top left corner of the FUN clock picture. That's the box of another of the items I got today, but I'll wait until tomorrow to photograph them. :)

I remember once going to a small museum, and I saw a model of a pirate ship on display. There were a lot of small pirates placed on the boat, and I was surprised to see that right in the middle of the model was Patrick Star. :P
