i got a theory that markerbob actually takes less time to animate, which is why you see markerbob used in short scenes like in ugh and party pooper pants, while normal animation takes more time

The walk cyle in the Sponge Who Could Fly was also markerbob. Every season 3 special has a patchy scene that's markerbob.
 
If the Legends of Bikini Bottom were in season 3, the episodes would have normal animation, but the shorts would be markerbob. Same thing with Clash of Triton and Goodbye Krabby Patty. Sandy's Vacation in Ruins would be markerbob, but the vacation episodes would have normal animation (some episodes being noodlebob, some episodes being normalbob)
 
Cheekbob is actually older than you think, its even older than markerbob itself, it was also in season 4View attachment 12012
I think Cheekbob also while having big cheeks has them down to his actual mouth area making him look like he's kind of smiling but it looks dull, you know what I mean? like they're below his eyes
 
Oh I never noticed No Free Rides has the bright and vibrant colors too
