209a. SpongeBob's Place

SQUIDWARD SINGING "I Hate People" made my day, literally. I wanna sing this in public. <3

In my Mimic Madness post, I mentioned that the show has been going on for such a long time and it still manages to make new stuff with characters. With this episode, the episode definitely took elements from previous episodes (Bummer Vacation, Patty Hype, The Krusty Sponge and Banned in Bikini Bottom), so calling this premise new wouldn't be true but unlike some other episodes I've seen in season 6-8, this episode felt different for sure. I love the fact that people will eat krabby patties if SpongeBob makes them well or terribly because costumers just trust SpongeBob, so Mr. Krabs acting like SpongeBob managed to at least keep costumers stay in a while until Mr. Krabs revealed himself. I really like how SpongeBob actually charges costumers with money, so It's just nice to see SpongeBob actually caring about his wealth for a bit. Of course at the end, he's back to being underpaid but he's happier that he'll work with Krusty Krab. It was kind of sweet that Mr. Krabs gave SpongeBob a bit tiny credit for his work. I wish he'd give him more credit that he deserves but it's Mr. Krabs, it's hard to expect him to act completely respectful. That's one thing that bugged me a bit but I'm learning to accept it. The gags were really great. Mr. Krabs' attempts to keep costumers were pretty funny, Gary as Squidward was joy to see and all of Squidward's sarcasm and joyfulness here was gold. This is definitely one of the best episodes of this season.

Grade: A-

I didn't see the other episode, but as for this, eh... I didn't like it, but at the same time, there's nothing about it that bothered me (outside of the new trend in these episodes to have Squidward go insane way too easily). It's definitely a very forgettable episode though.

6/10

I didn’t expect that this episode was going to be that great! It was a mix of Banned in Bikini Bottom, Patty Hype and The Krusty Sponge and well done. Squidward's song was hilarious and I really liked the Sponge/Krabs moments at the ending. Looks like they are bringing back Dad Krabs.

I give it a 9/10. Great job, Kaz! :D

This episode is not bad, but I wouldn't say it's that good. The plot reminded me of The Krusty Sponge where there's a restaurant in Spongebob's house. And in Banned in Bikini Bottom where other people are obsessed with Krabby Patties. This episode isn't really that interesting to me. The best thing about this episode is Squidward's song, I also do like the Mr. Krabs and Spongebob relationship, but other than that, it's a 6.5/10

When I read the synopsis of this episode, I had a strong feeling that I was going to enjoy it. And enjoy I did. Overall, this episode was really entertaining for a number of reasons. While some people thought it was low on the funny scale, my opinion opposes this as I thought there was a good amount of jokes/gags. I laughed out loud when Mr. Krabs was so desperate to keep his customers that he surrounded the Krusty Krab in molten lava. It was funny when the customers used him as a bridge too. Another joke I enjoyed was when Gary imitated Squidward. Speaking of Squidward, man oh man was his song comedy gold! I like how this season has brought more music back to the show. An additional aspect of this episode that I enjoyed was the introduction of new designs for background characters. It was definitely refreshing; it shows how such a little change can breathe new life into a show. Regarding the episode's plot, I liked how the customers were loyal to Spongebob and not Mr. Krabs. To me this is the way it should be as really Spongebob does all the work, which his why it was nice to see him getting appreciation. The feel of Spongebob's Place gave me good vibes if you know what I mean, just as a side note. So, to conclude, this episode was really good. A lot of these early episodes are setting my standards high for Season 10, with other great ones being House Worming, Mimic Madness, & Mermaid Pants.

I enjoyed this episode. And I have nothing else to say besides that :P

I find this episode was a little like The krusty sponge but not so Spongy. I did enjoy it though, really funny loved the easter eggs and Squidward's song. I liked that Mr.Krab's realized that with out Spongebob his restaurant wouldn't be a success. 10/10

I love how it played Hawaiian Adventures SpongeBob Theme Version 1

10/10!

This had felt like some continuity to Banned in Bikini Bottom and a mix of the plot of The Krusty Sponge, in fact this had felt like a prequel to The Krusty Sponge. Best gag IMO was when the guy was licking his hand and the other guy started to lick his hand! Yet was another Krusty Krab (but no Plankton, which was refreshing) episode, which is now becoming tedious with newer episodes (luckily a Boating School episode is coming up soon). Overall, this had been an excellent episode! One of the best of Season 10 so far.

FINAL RATING: EXCELLENT! 10/10

Good episode, but I can't really find much to say about it.

I liked it. The one gag that just didn't do it for me was when Mr. Krabs was trying to stop people from leaving the Krusty Krab by dressing up as spongebob and building a moat of molten lava. These two jokes didn't do anything to advance the plot and wern't really funny. However the rest of the episode was actually really good. Alot of good gags using the backround characters. I particularly liked the joke at the begining of the episode with the fish licking his human hand. I like that. It just shows how creative the team is getting with the animation this season.

7.5/10

This was pleasant and that's about it, okay jokes, okay story, I just can't comment on much besides the fact that it was competent, I barely remember anything that happened. I feel The Krusty Sponge is a much funnier, interesting, and subversive episode though.

6.5/10

PS: Can the show slow down on crazy Squidward moments? There have been way too many of those.

Just catching up on these episodes, since I was on vacation at San Antonio when they first aired.

SpongeBob's Place: This may have be another restaurant themed episode, but it had a rather decent premise. My only problem is that we barely see SpongeBob serving Krabby Patties at his place, thus making the title rather ironic. Half of the episode revolves on Mr. Krabs struggling at the Krusty Krab without SpongeBob. There were a few funny moments including the part where Squidward was at the Krusty Krab all by himself and he sings "I hate people." The ending of the episode was pretty nice, in which Krusty Krab is also considered to be SpongeBob's place (in other words, the main settings for most episodes nowadays). All in all, it's a good episode, but they should have explored more of SpongeBob's house as a restaurant. 8/10

I really liked this episode. I always like it when the people of Bikini Bottom all recognize and appreciate SpongeBob, and it was cool to see Mr. Krabs acknowledge and respond to it in the exact opposite way he did in The Krusty Sponge

Season: 10

Episode: SpongeBob's Place

This episode was very decent. The plot was pretty decent too, but somewhat rehashed. There were few funny jokes. 6.5/10
