This is a great, classic Halloween episode. It really puts you in the Halloween spirit! Funny, entertaining stuff throughout with the pranks, costumes, and trick or treating! The idea of SpongeBob being scared easily is great. And it's fun to watch him try to create a costume to scare everyone else back.

Plus this is the first appearance of the Flying Dutchman! And he makes a big entrance for sure! He seems extra powerful here! The Flying Dutchman is pretty entertaining and has a lot of personality. A Halloween episode is the perfect time to introduce him.

SpongeBob's "brain form" at the end is actually pretty creepy and scary! Perfect for a Halloween episode. It's a nice payoff that he scares everyone at the end after they all mocked him for being afraid!

Part of me wishes the episode was a little longer though. MAYBE it could have been even better as a special. I don't know forsure though. But we may have not gotten its sister episode Teenage Gary though, which I also really like. And the crew probably wasn't used to making 20 minute specials yet, so maybe that wouldn't have turned out well. Eh, it's still great the way it is as an 11 minute episode. Plus we got 2 Halloween episodes instead as a pair!

Overall, a very funny and entertaining Halloween episode! Although part of me feels like it maybe should have been a little longer. Definitely a Halloween classic you should watch every year!

This is kinda surprising. But it was rarely aired on TV, so I can see that.
