This episode is a disappointment. There is no Clash to begin with. It's just a special that screwed with us. And the original title was Neptunes Party. That would have been more fitting.

My theory behind that is that it's just another marketing ploy by Nick and their executives where they basically water down anything that all those writers/artists had in mind originally in the storyboard and premise and kill all the humor and jokes. Maybe Standards and Practices also sometimes influences the way these episodes turn out. It's so obvious which of the specials after the movie that they really got their hands on probably. Or they were just plain lazy and that's hard to believe when you got five people credited for writing the episode so my first hunch seems more likely here.

Overall, I don't think this episode (The Clash of Triton) was bad, and it doesn't deserve a ranking of 3.3. Come on, this rating is worse than the rating of Dear Vikings, Trenchbillies and Pet or Pests!
It was a bit disappointing for a special, though, I can agree on that.
 
I HATE this special!!! I'd even go far to say that it's worse than Atlantis SquarePantis. At least the bubble song in that special made me laugh because of how bad it was. This special has no reason to exist! It's boring, unfunny and had the ending was so predictable. Also the bad breath scene was so disgusting and the face SpongeBob makes during that scene makes it worse. This is the worst SpongeBob special in my opinion. 1/10
 
I hate this episode. The episode itself is boring and disappointing, the execution is horrible, the plot is bland, all the characters were stupid and the ending is one of the worst endings in the show. This is my new least favorite special in the show and it is on my bottom 20, if not bottom 15 or 10.
 
Probably the most boring episode ever. It was a little better than I remember it being, but still not very good. 5/10

Also, I know the show has no real continuity, but is Triton supposed to grow up to be the Neptune from the movie or what? (Assuming Neptune is the family name.)
 
I don't really like this episode .. I only like SB , Patrick and Squidward in that one .. It was so confusing and didn't really turn out good .. Triton was so so rude towards SB and Patrick even tho they saved him and towards his father , that was really disrespectful but Neptune wasn't right to his son at the first place .. iDK about this episode .. I like the fact that the customers wanted to see Neptune eating (that was funny) and SB willing to save Triton even tho it didn't turn out well .. Squidward's character was funny here and I liked the scene were he played his clarinet in front of the royal crowd .. The ending wasn't good , more like a disaster :/ Neptune was fine with that attitude but not with Tritons old good behavior ? Oh men , this episode has good moments but even tho it does , it's still a disaster , I will give it a 3/10 :/ I was really disappointed with that one .. I wanted the season's finale to be a good one ..
 
This is one of those episodes that will make you fall asleep going 5 seconds into it. It was very disappointing, boring, and completely lacked humor and excitement. There is absolutely no clash at all, meaning that this atrocity has a misleading title, which is another major problem with this special. There was little to no funny moments, and most of the characters were downright unlikable, especially Triton, because he was a HUGE jerk. The only good character I could find was Queen Amphitrite. Also, what was with that scene with SpongeBob's bad breath and had that butt-ugly look on his face? That was disgusting! Another con about why I hate season 6. Speaking of which, why is this episode in season 6 when season 7 began LONG before this episode aired? I know there is a production code, but that makes very little sense to me. Overall, this episode was a waste of potential, stupid, and flat out BORING! That's the word to describe this episode. BORING. Don't watch this special unless you want a faster way to go to sleep. 2/10

another thing to add this up for your con is Nick made this promo as calling it *epic battle* which i watched it..THERE IS NO BATTLE.

seriously, Nick hyped this up just to see if there's a *epic battle* which is NOT clearly there.

this episode is plain awful & boring.

This episode was more of a letdown to me than Truth or Square. I thought it was going to be an awesome special with an epic battle between Triton and the other characters. Nope. It was so boring and didn't even make me laugh.

I hate this episode. Worst S6 epsode in my opinion. It's one of the only episodes the season I still find as bad as I did when I watched it.

This was one of the only episodes from this season that I never watched (I stopped watching regularly at around 2010), but this episode is really terrible. It has a terrible plot, jokes that fall flat, and a horrible ending. The only good thing about this episode was Squidwards reaction to the transformed gold car driving though the Krusty Krab. That is really weak. And everyone sleeping during King Neptune's story of him and Triton was what I felt. Spongebobs overly detailed disturbing face is really unneeded and most likely was used for a joke but it feel completely flat. Oh yeah, and Patrick apparently still hasn't learned his lesson from the episode Pat no Pay about the Krusty Krab never giving him free food. 0/10
 
I think it is a good episode, but I wish Neptune had his movie designs,. Even if he had different voices.
