083c. Fungus Among Us

If I could describe this episode in 1 word it would be: Disgusting
  1. Friend or foe (10/10)
  2. Rise And Shine (9/10)
  3. Night Light (8.5/10)
  4. The Original Fry Cook (4.5/10)
  5. Waiting (1/10)
  6. Fungus Amongus (0.5/10)

This episode has a lot of problems, plus it's really gross. 1/10.

glad we have similar opinions on this little episode trilogy I think both Waiting and Fungus Amongus are both awful too, Rise and Shine was much better

for a moment I thought were going to review this episode

gross, gross gross, and more gross, this episode Is grosser than the splinter, pets or pests or any other grossest episode this episode is honestly bottom 10 material, it has nothing unlike waiting or any other episode from season 5 I have reviewed (including Atlantis squarepantis) this episode has nothing but its not bottom 5 I think would place this around number 7 maybe 6 unlike Atlantis squarepantis atleast this episode is 11 minutes and is shorter and atleast has I dunno a good premise but I'm tired of writing the review of this its like almost 1AM I should probably go to sleep but sleeping is for losers anyways

Rating: 0/10

Overall thoughts: One of my least favorite

Thoughts: AWFUL

I know this doesn't follow my theme of Season 4 episode reviews, but I thought I might as well review the notorious episode: Fungus Among Us. A season 5 episode that I've sadly watched too many times. Out of the 83 trilogy, I find this one to be the worst. And when my Bottom 25 is out, I guarantee this one will be somewhere on this list. I heavily dislike this one. "haha amongus" tehe let's get that outta the way.

The 83 trilogy isn't a favorite of mine. The trilogy is filled with Rise and Shine which wasn't bad, Waiting which was pretty bad, and then Fungus Among Us which I find to be the worst. The entire plot is just a gross-out plot. It all revolves around being nasty. I'm not a huge fan gross-out as I don't like episodes like To Love a Patty, Squid Baby, episodes like that. Of course, people often say "well it's SpongeBob, of course there's going to be gross-out humor", yeah I get it, but that doesn't mean I have to like it. I mean, look at my favorite episodes, still funny without excessive gross-out. I don't really find gross-out to be all that funny.

The episode starts with SpongeBob feeding Gary that new organic food. Reminds me of my mom's odd keto phase where she only had keto food in the house. I really hope that never happens ever again. It was so bad, I had small portions and no pasta. I was so sad. The beginning is alright, the episode gets worse later.

As the episode progresses, SpongeBob just keeps itching that gross fungus on his head. I can relate to being itchy, I'm itchy all the time for no exact reason. But did I really need to watch SpongeBob itch this gross, green algae on his head until it completely covers his body? Not at all. It just gets worse and worse.

The first Krusty Krab scenes... are probably one of the worst parts of the episode. Eventually Squidward finds out about this gross green fungus and calls the SWAT team on SpongeBob. Did Squidward really have to call the SWAT team? Like that's extreme even for him. So SpongeBob gets team called on him and then he gets put in a gross fungus bubble in his house. And poor Gary gets put in a tiny bubble. So we get to see green fungus covered SpongeBob breathe in all that fungus air. I know damn right it's probably hot in that thing too, and stuffy. But then Patrick just has to make it worse and pop the bubble.

And then we get to watch all the Krusty Krab customers eat all the gross fungus on their patties. Do they not see the bright green fungus on their sandwich or do they just not care? I will never be so hungry to the point where I will continue eating a sandwich if it has radioactive looking algae on it. So now the entire Krusty Krab is infested with the fungus.

Now for the "best part" when we see this gross, puffy fungus covered SpongeBob in a bubble as he's got algae slime... I don't know how to word this without it sounding weird. And what do the Krusty Krab customers do? They attack SpongeBob and his fungus bubble, causing him to cry and make more fungus water. And then it explodes all over the place! What a surprise! You attacked a giant bubble and it popped, I wonder why that happened?

The ending was nice. Gary returns. At least he got out of that bubble... but I dislike the episode as a whole, the ending could not make up for this episode.
This episode has almost no redeeming qualities besides Gary, otherwise this episode is not even all to fun to watch. I'd rather spend my time watching an episode like Friend or Foe or Spy Buddies.

My final rating and grade is a -1/10 (F Rank). So far this is my lowest graded episode with my new rating system! So congrats to Fungus Among Us for being the worst rated episode in my ranking so far. Hope you guys liked this review though!!

All SpongeBob did was make Gary not eat a fungus and then gets one of the worst punishments in the show since what happened to squidward in the thing
