I thought I'd make an appreciation post for the cute Gary cameos that I like.
Boating School
Gary gets Spongebob's bike (actually a unicycle but whatever,) back after Spongebob had thrown it away. Gary sits on Spongebob's head and travels with him to visit Ms Puff in the hospital. It was a quick scene but it really showed how much Gary cares about Spongebob.
Jellyfish Jam
Basically the entire climax of the episode. Gary saves Spongebob by creating a musical distraction. And they shake hands (?) near the end.
Sleepy Time
Here, we get a really weird glimpse into Gary's psyche. To this day I'm still not entirely sure what this sequence meant or what significance it has to Gary's character. All we know is that he's much smarter than he lets on.
Suds
Spongebob gets sick, but he has too much pride in his work to take a day off. Gary tries to talk some sense into him but fails. Luckily, Gary comes to the rescue and alerts Mister Krabs of Spongebob's condition. I'm not really sure if Gary did this in a "oh no, I've got to help my friend" sort of way, or in an "I told you so, you idiot" kind of way.
Later we see Gary keeping Spongebob company at home, keeping an eye on him. Good boy.
Also, this adorable screenshot from an otherwise horrible episode:
