What do you expect or want in Season 10? I have been thinking and it could go either way I want to see is something more like the old seasons.

I second that. More hilarity, more creative plots, more good animation, and more fun dialog. I also want to see the return of certain characters and locations that haven't show up in a while, like Squilvia and Rock Bottom.

We don't even know if there's going to be a 10th season yet. If there is, I would expect there to be some changes because it would be the first proper post-second-movie season (bar the rest of S9, which they're going to finish after the movie). Maybe there will be different crew members on board by then, or some will have left.
My wants would be pretty much the same as ever; funny episodes, characters being in-character etc.

As far as I know we have no knowledge of the future seasons. But, I'm pretty sure there will be huge episodes and marathons as it is the 10th season

I want:

- More intelligent thoughts from Spongebob (they dumbed him down a bit)
- More clever dialogue
- Squillium to return. I always liked him. =]
- Less gross-out moments. They're funny sparingly.
- Spongebob to get his boating license! I'd be cheering!

I think they need to go back down the road as ''Wishing You Well''. Come back with the simple story and focus on clever jokes & great dialog. I also wouldn't mind if they slacked off the face expressions, go back to the classic expressions. Make the characters more... real. Make the characters have more tighter personalities.

1. I would make Patrick more of a lazy star with dumb moments than a complete idiot. Patrick has shown smart moments in the past, plus, he acted more lazy in Season 1 than a complete idiot. I love Patrick in Season 1, they need to go back to that way for him.

2. More Sandy moments and showcase the karate aspect of it more.

3. Make Squidward more sluggish again... he seems more energetic to me recently.

4. Bring Mr. Krabs heart back. So that he would care more for others.

5. Hardly any of the stale ''Steal the Krabby Patties'' episodes and limited Krusty Krab episodes.

6. Make SpongeBob more nerdy than girlish. Ditch the weird aspect of him that he shows more now, which includes the overused pop-out pimples on his cheeks. Go back to the classic cheeks. SpongeBob needs to bring back the likable aspect of him. Not moments that make you cringe. He needs to act like he has a brain again, they dumbed him down quite a bit over the years.

7. No more extreme fantasy moments... just fun simple little stories.
8. Although impossible, replace Vincent Waller with Derek Drymon. Again... highly unlikely. Though, I do wish they would replace Vincent.

That's the key things for me. Unlikely? Perhaps, but my wants, none the less. In reality, I expect it to be similar to Season 9, perhaps a little more gross. But I feel the movie will be the end... I dunno until it comes.

Oh and I wouldn't mind seeing Rock Bottom again ether. And more... SPANDY moments! Seriously, when I watched it throughout Season 1 & 2, I felt they should of went out or something. Now, I don't think they should be in a relationship but it would be cool if they expressed romantic feelings for each other, in little ways. The fans would go crazy over those little things and it would just be awesome.

I remember being annoyed by Sandy's lack of screen time. It seemed like whenever she did appear, she wouldn't be there for long or is was something science related. I don't dislike that aspect of her, but it started to outweigh her karate/adventurous side, what she was mainly known for in the earlier Seasons.

Sandy really made a comeback in Season 8; she has the most appearances she's ever had in the show! (Her least amount of appearances were in Season 3! I can't believe I didn't notice...) And they also brought back the karate! If they continue to give her a good amount of episodes, less science, more karate, and more times where she's just hanging out with her friends, that would be wonderful.

4. Bring Mr. Krabs heart back. So that he would care more for others.
Yes, please! I know Mr. Krabs is supposed to be cheap, and it's supposed to be funny, but there have been times in the post-movie eps where I wanted to slap him in the face. :T

5. Hardly any of the stale ''Steal the Krabby Patties'' episodes and limited Krusty Krab episodes.
YESYESYESYESYESYESYESYESYESYESYESYES.

We've had so many of these, even back to back. Can we have a break, please? The Krusty Krab is an important location, but not the only one! I wanna see more locations! I heard there hasn't been a Goo Lagoon episode since Season 6! (We're about to get one in Season 9, but still!) What does Ukulele Bottom look like? Will we ever see Glove Universe again?

I'd love for Plankton to have moments where he finds something else to do. Or at least moments like in Plankton's Pet and Eek! An Urchin! where his plans get derailed. A break away from his "steal the formula" plots may help the attempts to get more interesting.

Yesssss, I miss his Tom Kenny glasses. xD I can't remember the last time he wore them. (I also miss him saying "I'm ready!" from time to time, I'm so glad they brought that back in Mooncation.) We don't need anymore moments with him randomly calling Squidward handsome or having the same IQ as Patrick.

I don't mind the cheeks as long as they don't look too jarring...He cheeks were supposed to be pretty big and poked-out from the start:

This probably won't happen, but since the episodes are getting better, I don't mind. Derek Drymon does work on the SpongeBob Comics. You should check 'em out. c:

I wouldn't mind this at all, lol :p

At this point, I can't really ask for much. SpongeBob generally acts how he's supposed to. Patrick is a good character again. Sandy is appearing more. Plankton has become tolerable. Mr. Krabs isn't a complete jerk anymore. Squidward is alright. The plots are still fresh consistently, even in bad episodes. The ratio of good to bad episodes is very high.

The show has become actually funny again. It's even trying new things, like continuity. I'd like less Plankton and Krusty Krab episodes, yeah. But I kinda think this is as good as it's gonna get. We're so close to a Pre-movie level, and I don't think we can ever reach a level of Season 3 again. But I'll settle for close.

In short, I just hope Season 10 (if we get one) can keep up what we've got now.

I'm glad we agree on a lot of the issues! :) And I don't mind his pimple cheeks, because he did it in the earlier seasons too... it's just they overuse them now. And it was indeed supposed to be big and poked-out at the start but they changed it. :p That was a rejected character design... and I'm kinda glad it was.

What I want is them to do less of this look:
Spongebob-181a-frothy-technology-clip.jpg

And more of this look... (Yes, it's a post-movie episode):

They should bring back that look more often... but the most important thing is to make him more nerdy again. I don't care about his cheeks if they do that. He had the cheeks in the movie, but his personality was still there (somewhat... his personality was there more in Season 4 than it was in the movie, I feel.) And I do see improvement... but it's not quite there yet, in my opinion. It still feels like it has errors to sort out. I don't feel, myself, that Patrick is quite a good character, yet. And yeah, I thought the comics were pretty decent in terms of story.

And yes, they should keep going with the continuity thing (I love it)... but they need to revert back on some things and make adjustments. They kind of messed up the continuity before Season 8, but it's getting better in that department. Now, is Season 9 on the same path as Season 3? Heck no. I'd say it's climbing back up to early Season 5, myself (I thought the early episodes of Season 5 were pretty good). Is that a bad thing? Not exactly... but they don't need to stop, they need to keep improving, because it's simply just not there yet. Plus, I thought Season 8 was a little better than Season 9, but not to my standard of liking the whole season, aside from a few episodes.

I like Mooncation... it was like a sequel to Sandy's Rocket, for me! Except... they really do go to the moon, this time. Sandy's Rocket is my favorite SB episode, so it's nice trying to connect the two episodes together. :p

Add me to the list of people who wants more nerdy SpongeBob. Or at least for them to tone down the effeminacy. His nerdiness was always one of the most likable aspects of his personality and one of the things I miss the most. It bothers me when, in a scene where he uses glasses for reading, they use those tiny rectangular ones. Or jellyfishing goggles (or even nothing at all) instead of the big black frames. His geek glasses did make a re-appearance in "Planet of the Jellyfish" so at least they're not gone forever, but I wish they would use them with consistency. He used to wear them every time he went jellyfishing. Sometimes it feels like they just forgot.

PS: Droopy nose has also got to go.

Yes! I agree. I'm also not a fan of the droopy nose. I miss the glasses, they need to use it more, I agree.

I HATE SQUILLIAM AND I---

I want Plankton to win, and you think season 3 is the best? Well we all have our own opinions.

Yes
I also want more boating school episodes (funny sb failures) and Patrick to be smart, and not lazy.

I love the continuity too, I always found it weird how they seemed to forget what previously happened in another episode. And yes, they should continue to improve. There aren't that many of my favorite post-movie episodes that feel classic to me. While I did enjoy them, I feel like they could go a little further.

Ooooh! I saw (and enjoyed) that episode. I can't believe I didn't remember that. xD As for the droopy nose, it works sometimes for helping to convey emotion, but I remember there was a time where he seemed to be doing it too much... :T

Along with the other things I want to see in the show, I'd like to see sponges of different colors and shapes. It would be interesting to play around with SpongeBob's synthetic appearance like they did in The Abrassive Side.

Oh, something I would like is for the show to go to more places or switch up scenery. It feels like we've been stuck in Bikini Bottom/Conch Street/Krusty Krab for the longest. I loved the Roadtrip episodes (as well as Frozen Face Off and Hello Bikini Bottom) because they felt like such a change of pace from the sameness in scenery we've been experiencing for the past Season or so. Episodes like Pineapple Fever and A Friendly Game even would be a nice switch-up, because episodes like those make us look at the classic settings in a new way.

The sameness doesn't seem as compacted in Season 9 so far, maybe things are changing.

Season 10 will probably be resiment of the last 2 seasons. Because, face it guys, Steve left, so the show isn't going to change much besides the fact that some newer writers will join and older writers will leave.

But the show has changed a lot from Seasons 4-Now even without Steve on. :P
