Whatever Happened To Spat?

In the much-hated episode, "All That Glitters," Spongebob constantly refers to his spatula as Spat. Since then it has been referred to as Fifi, or even just Spatula or My Spatula. Now, it's possible Spat is short for Spatula, but where the heck did Fifi come from? I also wouldn't like the theory that Spat died and he switched to Fifi, although that may be the case. Spat could've potentially died in Evil Spatula, which may take place before "Little Yellow Book" where Spat is referred to as Fifi.
 
Well SpongeBob has very little continuity, like how the spatula seen in "Help Wanted" was never seen again, despite it helping SpongeBob get the job.

It's possible he renamed Spat to Fifi. Of course, why he'd rename it is something I don't know the answer to. Also, he's been seen to have more than one spatula in various episodes, maybe he gives each spatula a different name.

That's the explanation I like the most so far.
 
Yeah, he probably has more than 1 spatula.


Or the nickname 'Spat' is just a plot device for the episode.
 
Spat could have been broken for good and SpongeBob decided to use Fifi instead. Or he might just have multiple ones.
 
My reasoning for this is that he probably doesn't use Spat all the time because he doesn't want him to get damaged again, so he switches between other spatulas every so often.
 
Realistically, SpongeBob has to have replaced his spatula at least several times throughout the series.
 
Maybe he keeps his old spatulas at his house. I mean sometimes he cooks at home so maybe he uses his other spatulas there.

This is just so stupid. I'm just going to go the easy way and say "Fifi" doesn't exist. It gives me shivers when people use that name in Spongebob conversation, let alone even mentioning it.
 
Well, in "The Curse of Bikini Bottom", ghost SpongeBob did "kill" a spatula, and attempted to use its ghost to flip patties. Perhaps the spatula he broke was Spat.
