Triton and Mindy

In the episode Clash of Triton, it is shown that Neptune had a son that he abandoned. Called Triton. In the movie it was revealed that Neptune had a daughter called Mindy. These situations made me very curious. Mindy wasn't involved in the episode "Clash of Triton". Yet, Triton is not involved in the movie. Another thing that made me curious is the fact that The neptune in the movie is different to the neptune shown in the TV series. In the end, it led me straight to a shocking conclusion.

Could Triton be Mindy's father?

This could be the reason on why the original neptune was different to the neptune from the movie. Maybe "neptune" is just a title given to new Gods of the sea. However, considering the movie took not too long after the show's final episode, its unlikely how Mindy could grow up so quickly. So what do you think about this? What is the truth behind the royal family tree of sea Gods?

But in all reality, as we all know, the movie is way at the end of the timeline, so it is very possible that the neptune in the movie is Triton and the characters spanned a good 30-40 years.

if Mindy is so old, how can MIndy and Patrick be together?

I've along with other members have thought that there were two Neptunes. One the ruler of current SB and one the ruler of the movie. It is possible that the ruler from current SB (AKA the show) is a god while the ruler from the movie is just a king. I've actually heard someone say this before. So I like the idea you had about Triton. I'm going to say that the Neptune from current SpongeBob made a change in democracy soon before the movie. Neptune from current SpongeBob allowed the other Neptune to watch over Bikini Bottom as a sort of president to the actual Neptune from the show. This could make sense because the Neptune from the movie was going bald, a sign of aging. And why would he be loosing hair if he wasn't immortal like the Neptune from the show? Just because someone is a mermaid doesn't make them immortal. All we know are that mermaids are probably rare creatures. They're really only seen in Welcome to the Bikini Bottom Triangle and Mermaid Man Begins.

Long story short: The Neptune from the show could have made the Neptune from the movie a king for Bikini Bottom. This would explain the different appearances of the kings and etc.
