We all know know the story: Bubble Troubles was just a standalone, forgotten episode of season 8, but ever since Mr. Exit reviewed it and took it too seriously as usual, it's become almost widely deplored by everyone. And why is it infamous? Because Sandy was dying in this episode and the episode, according to the Enterbots, apparently "makes fun of people that go crazy from lack of oxygen".

That brings me to my main point. People clearly can't seem to handle dark humor in episodes like this in the slightest. And, in case you're wondering, the "infamous scene" in this episode is the part where SpongeBob used an oxygen tank to go to the surface and blow a huge bubble to save Sandy. So a scene where a character is saving someone is infamous? That makes very little sense to me. In fact, why don't we take a flashback to another instance of this happening on the show.

Remember the episode "Pressure"? At one point in that episode, SpongeBob and friends made fun of Sandy for wearing a spacesuit and helmet underwater. Then, she became so fed up with their teasing that she removed it. Like in Bubble Troubles, she nearly died of lack of air, but what did SpongeBob and the others do here? They smiled and laughed at her! And yet, because of pre-movie bias, nobody's complained about that particular scene, but hate Bubble Troubles, completely shoving aside the fact that they were trying to save Sandy in that episode.

This is one reason why I can't comprehend the hatred for this episode at all. If you hate an episode of SpongeBob, you need to at least have a valid, non-hypocritical reason!

Just thought I'd put this out real quickly. Post your opinions below.

Agreed. I think most people are focused on that particular "infamous scene", because of the "post-movie bash." Or maybe people consider the episode "infamous", because the plot was focused on Sandy's lack of oxygen in comparison to one scene of Pressure.

Yeah I just searched up his review on DeviantArt, and to rephrase what someone said in the comments, it's like in "Tea at the Treedome" where Spongebob enters Sandy's house and he gets deprived of oxygen. Just saying that to add up with your comment with how Sandy ends up losing her breath in "Pressure". But yeah, I agree with your points, and it's pretty vexing how Mr. Enter and his fans don't even nitpick those scenes. They're really biased with the post movie season overall.

The scene in pressure where Sandy is dying of oxygen is just one scene, the rest of the episode is actually very funny
the bubble troubles ep is a full episode of sandy dying of oxygen and its not funny, and is actually very scary

why are you defending bubble troubles
why

I (sort of) understand why some people don't like episodes based around a character dying, but don't forget that Tea at the Treedome did this plot, too. Also, I'm pointing out the scene in Pressure because people say Bubble Troubles "makes fun of people dying from lack of oxygen", even though the characters were trying to save her in that episode, whereas the characters just laughed at her in Pressure. Furthermore, there is nothing wrong with loving this episode. I actually liked the bizarreness and action of BT.

I liked Bubble troubles too but people have a right to hate the episode as it has a lot of problems

Not saying they can't hate it, neither. If you read my article carefully, you'd know I said "if you hate an episode, you should have at least a valid, non-hypocritical reason".

It's because people are blind sheep when it comes to this guy. When he puts out a review, suddenly everyone agrees. People ought to form their own opinions once in a while. That's why I don't listen to episode reviews before I see said episode. I want to form my own opinion before others can influence it. It's important to be able to evaluate a review for yourself rather than blindly agreeing. I wanted to dislike A Pal for Gary, probably because of everything that was said about it, but after thinking it over I really didn't find it to be the worst episode of the series.

As for the scene itself, this is 2016 and you can't make any sort of joke that has even a slight hint of controversy without people coming at you with torches and pitchforks. It's a cartoon. If you're taking it that seriously, you need to find a hobby.

But then again, I haven't heard about any of this until just now, so I don't know if it's a big issue or not.

I dislike Bubble Troubles, but not for that. It's mostly because of the slow and incredibly annoying beginning and the rest of the episode being dull. Sandy's insanity is actually probably the best thing about it to me.

And that's perfectly fine.
