Hey, so you know the music in the credits for the episode Texas/Walking Small? I'm pretty sure I remember hearing the instrumental version in the UK. I was just reminded of these credits, so searched it up, but never expected singing. Is anyone able to confirm if the instrumental version used to be played here?
 
Honestly, I never even knew that was a thing. That's one of the issues with Nickelodeon using on-screen and split screen credits since the year 2000 in the US (around the same time the episode aired) - we never get to see them, even on the DVDs since they put all the credits together (except for Krusty Krab Training Video on Sponge For Hire).

However, I was able to find this playlist of international dubs:


Considering that they have a different vocal recording for so many languages, if I were to guess, it was always shown with vocals. There's a chance it was a little bit different in the UK since there is always a slight modulation in the audio with pitch and such, but I haven't been able to find any footage for that variant (if it even exists).
 

I've found this. I remember the SpongeBob SquarePants logo at the end of the intro being textless, so could imply they got a foreign copy that just so happened to be instrumental only. But then again, I'm not even sure if this aired in the UK at all, since I don't feel very familiar with it, and that's quite odd since I know the episodes very well, I feel like this would be something I was certain that aired. For some reason, I find this outro to be creepy, especially with the cows mooing at the end, it just feels off...

Nah there's a few other instances. Krusty Krab Training Video has unique credit music and a unique sequence, then Ugh, Have You Seen This Snail & Truth or Square all have unique music since they're specials, and there's probably a few other examples I'm forgetting.

Yeah I instantly remembered a few more. SpongeBob's House Party has a whole sequence that's unique, and I also remembered Ugh, which I added to the original post.

Also Alantis Squarepantis has an extended version of the usual ending music
 
It's weird they did this, but only used it for international airings. Maybe we could find the premiere on MySpleen (if any of y'all have accounts there) and see if they played the music on the split screen credits. I remember a rerun with the announcer promoting The Chaperone had the usual music.
